Clippers have won 9 of last 10. Thunder have struggled at 5-5 in their last 10. Also, as a 6 seed, we wouldn't face 72-9 Warriors until the WCF. Food for thought.
Clips 115 - 109 L 102 - 87 L 109 - 98 L 96 - 94 L OKC 106 - 90 L 115 - 110 W 128 - 94 L 120 - 115 W (OKC didn't play 3 starters)
I think he's pissed Dame got more airtime for the state farm commercials. But you are right, Lillard generally can not stop CP3.
I have thought about this as well recently. Just saying the team names it seems like the Clippers would be the no brainer choice, but looking at the recent play and how we have played against each team, it is definitely up for debate.
King, IM with ya, except, I think Dame needs a series against him and I think this series will be the turning point of the head to head matchup. CP3 has owned it... but he will no longer because this is Dames time to put this battle to rest and say... CP3? your the past. Im the future!!!
We as in the fans or we as in the Trail Blazers? Doesn't matter what we fans want. The Trail Blazers are already on record that they want the 5th seed and to the play the Clippers. They have made their choice.
Well, I think it's nearly a given that Dallas will win tonight since SA will be resting everyone, and Memphis will certainly lose. So it's really up to us beating Denver. I think the Clips are a weaker team overall. Griffin is gimpy, and remember it took some ridiculous 3s for them to beat us in a couple of games.
Westbrook and Durant will always get hteres but for some ungodly reason Kanter OWNS us when he plays. Giving the Thunder a nice advantage with the bench unit. The Clippers have no one like it, only Crawford who goes off one in every 3 games.
You can face a team with two of the top five players in the league, or you can face a good but certainly not great Clippers team. The bench is really the difference, I agree about Kanter who has been a force against the Blazers. The Clippers are much, much more beatable, either way you'd have to face the Warriors or the Spurs in the 2nd round. The Clippers just aren't as good as OKC, plus they still have issues with their starting 5.
Definitely two different types of opponents. OKC has better starters and better scoring bigs, where the Clippers have a great shot blocking center. JJ Redick is shooting almost 48% from deep for the season. And he usually plays well against the Blazers. I fear the Clipper bench more with Crawford, Pierce, Griffin (Mbah a Moute has been starting) and Cole Aldrich. Pick your poison. I think the question is a good one, and I think it is a toss up.
No. We can beat the Clippers with good team D. The only thing scary about them is the NBA-mandated referee fucking we're going to get.
If we're going to have any playoff success we should just not worry about who we play but let them all worry about playing us! We can beat either team if we make shots, defend and take care of the ball...we're due for a winning streak
Our Blazers strongly prefers to play the Clippers. They have more hate for that team. Doc is an asshole who cussed out Stotts in the presesaon. They bitch about every call. The games are in LA which would be a much more fun city. The games will all be on national TV instead of an NBATV game. If the Blazers play well it'll show the much bigger LA market. I also want to see us play the Clippers because we won't get overpowered by OKC bigs. We have big wings who can stay in front of Griffin. The Clippers have been out rebounded by opponents and we can take advantage of that. If we played Durant I doubt he'd consider signing here; yeah it unlikely but if OKC gets slaughtered by the Spurs it might be a small possibility. I don't want the slow painful death of the Spurs execution if we won a series. If we lose in the second round it would be much more fun in a series against the Warriors. OKC has better depth than us while we may have an advantage there against the Clippers. Either series is going to be a huge upset if we win so you can make an argument for either team.
