Probably not. I may have not been fully on board with the Hawes signing last night, but after sleeping it over, it would be a fine get. Only thing it costs is cap room and no players.
at first I said no but as much as I like Rolo his contract expires after next year and we could have cap issues with him and Monroe, so I'd have to seriously consider including him in a deal "if" there was one, but I really do not think Detroit would want him and I really do not think the Blazers are after him
I think it wouldn't be a big deal for Allen if we are contending. But it's moot because only way we get Monroe is giving up Rolo or batum. I disagree with either one.
I wan't big on Hawes either, but fact Blazers have made him a top priority . . . well I figure there has to be something there.
Neither. And I think it's silly that people think we would - or would have to - to get Monroe. Teams losing RFAs are not in the driver's seat - they take what they can get, not what they want. Batum has more value than Monroe - so if it's a "package" trade, it'd be DET building a package around Monroe, not us building a package around Nic.
Yes - other teams can. And that's what gives all other teams power over DET. Sounds like DET doesn't want to pay Monroe market value - so they've essentially already lost him. Monroe can say "I'm gonna go sign with CLE for the max, or you can take whatever POR wants to give you and S&T me to them." It all comes down to what Greg wants to do - unless DET decides they're going to match. But DET is not in a position to ask for the world.
