No, I highly doubt we trade Odom or anybody. We'll probably just sign some FA's

    Yes.

Odom has proven himself over and over again to be pathetic when we really need him. He's proven to disappear in crunch time situations...the FINALS were the straw that broke the camel's back. I'm actually pretty confident right now that he'll be shipped away this summer. His $14 million expiring contract is way too valuable not to use.

How does that piss you off? I am really excited he has decided to forgo surgery until after the Olympics. I don't know if you are from the United States but if you are, I can't be more excited about the world's best player representing our country. After getting spanked in Athens in 2004, I want nothing more than for us to bring home Gold in Beijing. Kobe will be a big piece of the puzzle.

I'm not pissed that Kobe is putting the surgery off. He played the last half of the season with the injury. He has adapted to playing with it, knows how to protect it, etc...It should be no problem.

If we resign our free agents at a reasonable price (Sasha and Ronny) then I guess I wouldn't be too dissapointed. I want Lamar traded for a real small forward, but if that can't done, then I guess I'll live. I won't be too happy with the offseason, but not really upset either. I'm just excited at the idea of seeing Bynum on the court again.

I think it's going to be either Ronny or Sasha that we keep, not both. I think the likelihood is going to be us keeping Turiaf. Sasha wants the full $5.8 million MLE, the Lakers can't simply afford to match it and think of keeping both Odom and Bynum, without having to dig deep into Buss' pockets for the luxury tax.

Kupchak should do the obvious and trade Bynum for Kidd. [IMG]

If that trade doesn't go down, Mitch deserves to be eternally declared the Worst GM ever!

trade odom for the nets' rj...rj elevates his game in the playoffs and the nets want to shed his salary...

Well, I won't be disappointed, but I don't want to stand pat. Personally, there's a lot of trash on this roster that I wouldn't mind finding a way to ship out, mainly Odom and Walton.

Well maybe Mitch will wait until the season when a team realises their record sucks and won't make playoffs and decide to cut costs (like Memphis) and decide to rebuild.

Maybe if Chicago sucks again next year, Deng + Nocioni for Odom + Radmanovic?

Kobe can use the recovery time for the surgery as atime to rest his legs up for the upcoming season.

The pinkie seems like a complete non-issue to me as well. I hope we get Gold, Go USA. I'm real excited about the Olympics this year because of Bryant and the level of competition of our opponents.

Don't worry, Kobe isn't going to play heavy minutes in the Olympics. I think he only averaged 20 or 22 minutes in the FIBA tournament. Team USA's backcourt is loaded.
