So we know nic batum actually likes being in portland. Yes, he had a terrible season and we got some good stuff out of him but the question is, would you be in favor of signing him next summer IF he performs better than this past year? I personally wouldn't mind getting nic back next year.

How is Nic going to magically change at this point in his career?

I want to see how Dame plays without him before I answer this question.

When Olshey fills the roster next summer, he may not find any $15M substitute point guards who refuse to shoot because of an unreliable shot, so I'm all for it.

No, he will get ridiculously paid, his injuries could increase with age and he will likely continue to play for France in the summers, I think Nic and POR are done with each other

What if we got a discount for him? He knows the system and we already have a hole at sf. Don't know how crabbe will end up after this year but nic and aminu would be great as sf's

Let me tell you exactly how it will go down:
    1. Nic is going to have a bad season with the Hornets till the All Star break.
    2. At the All star break Nic will be traded to the Spurs for 2nd rounders or junk players.
    3. At San-Antonio we will see Nic posting 14 pts+6rpg+6apg while shooting GREAT from outside.
4.Analysts will rave about the brilliancy of the Spurs.

This is Nic Batum's future, don't forget where you read it first!

He did play with an injury for most of the season and admitted he was terrible. I'm just saying, if he returns to old form with Charlotte, it's worth thinking about

I liked Nic a little bit, but we've seen who is at this point. He's a slightly above average 3 who occasionally flashes, but more often than you can tolerate (as a team) would have huge stretches of passivity and substandard play. This isn't going to change in his 8th year.

    Time to move on.

I've been told exactly the opposite. That behind the scenes, he is not that fond of Portland and wants a more diverse, international city.

I'd heard rumblings to the same effect several years back.

Some people around here really need to start looking at players' PR statements with a more jaundiced eye.

This city isn't all that great. Just being real. I bet you a ton of players hate Portland (to live in). I wouldn't be surprised if Dame even hates the city for that actual purpose.

The city is great if you're white, like hipster bullshit, hiking and/or microbrews. If you are young, rich, and black? Uhhh . . . I don't want to speak for anybody, but it would suck ass I'd guess.

It's really a city you want to have your kids grow up in. A lot of outdoor shit to do and family fun. A single guy with millions might think it's boring as hell

In the 'burbs bro I agree (well in some places). But the actual city-city kinda sucks man. As for the city part, I'd rather be in a place like Chicago, San Fran, Seattle, etc. Much more engaging and interesting.
