<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Falcons WR Brian Finneran re-injured his right knee over the weekend, according to a club spokesman. He went on Reserve/Injured with the injury on July 31 of last year after he suffered it on July 29 during training camp. He had been rehabbing the knee in preparation for the 2007 season.Finneran is being evaluated by doctors this week and there is no word on his status from the club. The 6-5, 217-pound receiver has 187 receptions for 2,647 yards and 15 touchdowns in 86 career games (35 starts). The Villanova product came into the NFL as an undrafted free agent with Seattle in 1998. He saw time in the 1999 season with Philadelphia before he was signed to the Falcons' practice squad in December of that year.</div>http://atlantafalcons.com/team/article.jsp?id=19509---I had a good feeling that Finneran would be off the team this year - injured or not. It's too bad though, because before his injury last year, every one was so excited to have him.Good luck to him though. He was a good Falcon.
Finneran should call it career. No reason to ruin his entire future by continuing to get injured. He's financially well-set.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Finneran re-injures kneeBy STEVE WYCHEThe Atlanta Journal-ConstitutionPublished on: 05/14/07Falcons wide receiver Brian Finneran re-injured the surgically repaired left knee that sidelined him all last season. He will undergo further medical testing before it can be determined when, or if, he will return this season.Finneran re-injured the knee in which he tore his anterior cruciate ligament during training camp in 2006 while doing rehabilitative work last weekend during the Falcons' mandatory minicamp. He will be further examined by the Falcons medical staff and outside specialists to plan the next course of action, according to the team. Results might not be known until early next week. At the very least, Finneran's projected return by the start of training camp could be set back.Outside of tight end Alge Crumpler, Finneran was quarterback Michael Vick's favorite target until his injury. Finneran was known for his reliability and knack for receptions that resulted in first downs. Players admitted that not having Finneran's productivity and leadership was a detriment during a 7-9 season last year.Unsure of Finneran's durability this season, Atlanta picked Laurent Robinson in the third round of the draft two weeks ago. Robinson would provide a measure of insurance if he adapts to the NFL game from Division I-AA Illinois State.Joe Horn, Roddy White and Michael Jenkins are expected to form the top-three rotation at wide receiver. Robinson, Adam Jennings and free agent Fred Gibson, among others, are competing for playing time and roster spots at wide receiver.</div>http://www.ajc.com/sports/content/sports/f...15finneran.html
