The end of a 4 games in 5 days road stretch, coming off a back to back. Some keys to this game: - As always, rebounding. Noah is a monster, Taj Gibson is a good frontcourt player. Beans and Lee need to control the glass. - Contain Luol Deng. I feel like Dorell really hasn't been tested defensively against many scoring SFs. This will be a good matchup to see what hes got. In 3 Chicago wins Deng has averaged 22 ppg on 46% FG and 8 FTA's a game. In 3 losses hes averaged 17 ppg on 40% FGs and 4 FTAs. The Bulls lack scorers as Denny Crane said. If Deng gets up to the mid-twenties at a decent clip with plenty of FTs they're hard to beat. Rose has been remarkably consistent in both wins and losses- you're not going to shut him down. Take away Deng and we'll be in much better position. - Beans and bench. Our other 4 starters put up 40+ mins last night in a hard fought game. Beans played only 26 and aside from Reggie Williams no one else on the bench got into double digit minutes. Beans needs to stay out of foul trouble and play 35 minutes +. We'll also need at least one bench player to really help carry the load. Reggie is sowing signs that he may be starting to get rolling. Wright has been decent the past few games. Someone needs to come in and make a big impact IMO for us to have a chance in this game.
Reports are coming out that Lee will not play this game after cutting his arm yesterday. BWright and/or Adrien coming out party? I think not. Vlad will play 40 mins!
B. Wright getting the start in place of Lee. Hope he is aggressive. Taj Gibson is a good player but hes a guy who doesn't have that much of a weight advantage. Would love for Wright to put up a double double and kick the door in on the consistent playing time.
whaaaaat? lee's missing because of a cut??? that's weaaak...that's a tough spot to fill. i'm not looking forward to 35 minutes of vlad. fuck.
Ouch, first quarter and we have 9 turnovers to their 1...just can't control the ball. Leading to them getting a ton of easy points. Not sure if I'm gonna keep listening to this one.
it took us 19 minutes to get to the free throw line...whether that's bad officiating or not, that's horrible. they look awful in general. sit the starters. if someone important gets hurt in this massacre I will flip my lid.
^yeah i agree...couldn't be playing much worse, in fact. how many shots have we missed under the basket? it's past 2am for me...I should probably just say fuckit and get some sleep haha
- We're being outrebounded. - Deng has 21 at half time and doing great overall. - Our bench produced 4 pts 2 reb. Beans played 13 min. Wright not seizing the opportunity of getting the start. On the bright side we usually kill it in the 3rd quarter and even if there is no come back at all I'll still watch if Smart plays Lin, Adrien, etc. heavy minutes. At least until the Sharks game starts.
BTW, it's not just a cut...it's a bite wound. Those can be the gnarliest of wounds. I had a buddy that nearly lost an arm because he punched a guy and got a tooth stuck in his hand. He got an intense infection after 2 days. He said it felt like his arm was on fire. He had to go on a crazy drip dose of antibiotics for like 2 weeks.
The W's figured out to play zone, but way too late. You cut the lead from near 40 to a little over 20 before it became garbage time. And that was against the Bulls' starters. The Bulls' strategy was spot on. The W's being an uptempo team and playing 4 games in 5 nights on the road, the Bulls tried to run you guys into the ground from the start.
I'm not really sure if being "uptempo" has anything to do with it, but yes, the Bulls certainly ran the W's into the ground. Really impressive showing by Chicago. Once you guys get Boozer back...look out.
I figure your guys were all tuckered out from running around 3 of the previous 4 nights. Thibs figured out to run from the start against you, which is not typical of any other game this season so far. Perhaps he figured you'd be tired by Q4 or something. I really expected this to be a tough game. I expect it to be really tough when we face you in SF.
I picked a Lakers - Bulls Finals... Yesterday confirmed it for me. Rose is really a special player, having Booz come in alongside Noah's gonna make for a tough front court for sure.
The Celtics beat us The Pistons were up 20 until mid Q3 against us The Knicks beat us Not so sure we'll be in the finals, but it's a great thought! And your 2x guards are way better than the two we can put out there (combined).
