Re: WVR Sengoku: Eighth Battle: Featherweight Grand Prix Quarter-Finals Ugh, looks like Ottawa's own Nick Denis' tournament ends this weekend. Sandro will get it to the ground and 'control' out a win unless Nick can land a good shot to stun Marlon and finish him quick. Ribeiro vs Yamamiya looks like a total mismatch as Yamamiya has 66 MMA bouts and Riberio 1. But Ribeiro is the BJJ Open weight class champ and the first person to ever submit Jeff Monson in a grappling match. this may be a mismatch, but not the one it appears to be on paper should be some very good fights.. not sure if I'll wake up early to find a feed for this though

wsa a good night of fights and the Kanehara/Sung Jung fight was top notch, but Kanehara getting the dec was VERY generous to put it politely. Sandro's KO was wicked. Great uppercut that Denis never saw coming dropped him and then a few unabated punches while he was down ended it quick. Hioki tooled Mann who was totally overmatched the Omigawa stoppage was utter BS, Phan was using his legs to try and kick Omigawa away from him but was eating punches but he wasn't defenseless. Complete crock even if Phan was eating a few good punches. If that was a Japanese fighter on the bottom they never would have stopped it. I missed the Wiuff/Nedkov fight, but Wiuff seems to have reached the end of his journeyman shelf life as a fighter, kinda like Jeremy Horn did. You can only fight so many fights and then you're body can't take it anymore.
I watched it at 4 am this morning via a live feed.. freaking videotron doesn't offer HDNet. I imagine HDNet will reair the show if you get that channel.
