Want news that is more depressing than the Lebron James Nike free agent tour? Check out this rather stellar article by Adrian Wojnarowski at Yahoo sports. The entire article is worth a read and provides a peak into the messed up world of the NBA hotstove:
What's depressing about it? Coaches can be replaced pretty easily. Getting the top player of his generation, in the game of basketball, is an irreplaceable bit of luck. To the extent all of this is true, it makes me feel pretty good that Reinsdorf understands this and is in it to win it. While I really like Wojnarowski, I'd also like to point out that he's really let Forman for being a snake with questionable control and authority within the team structure in the past. So it at least ought to require some explanation when he's treated as the competent decision-maker he appears on paper rather than the front-man he really is. Who cares whether Forman is sold on something or not. It's like asking what the Chairman's opinion on the food is on Iron Chef. I don't know and I don't care... I just hope he doesn't somehow screw things up.
