Andrew Miller's name is "out there a bit" in trade talks as per John Heyman.

USA Today reports that the Red Sox are expressing interest in Chris Young as per Bob Nightengale.

BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Yankees GM Brian Cashman has signaled he's willing to talk about just about anyone in trade, and while it's a long shot, that apparently even includes star closer Andrew Miller.

Other teams say Miller's name is out there a bit, though even they wonder how serious the Yankees are about it.

"We're open to all ideas -- as always," Cashman said when asked about Miller. "It doesn't mean I'd do anything but if the Dutch never asked the Indians for Manhattan you'd be living in New Jersey."

Others suggest the price tag would be very high for Miller, whose first year in New York was nothing short of brilliant. The Yankees would want an ace pitcher or some other huge return sources suggest, to so much as consider it.

One player that could make sense for Miller is Nationals starStephen Strasburg, who might be hard for Washington to extend. That is speculative; it isn't known if Miller's name has come up with Washington.

The Tigers, Diamondbacks , Red Sox , Astros and Blue Jaysare among teams looking at closers. The Blue Jays and Astros had interest in Miller last winter.

The Yankees are a rare team with two closer-quality relievers with Dellin Betances being the other. They also tried for Aroldis Chapman and Craig Kimbrel at the trade deadline and could consider them again this winter.

Miller, going into his second year of his $36M, four-year deal, does not have no-trade capability.

    __________________________

First off - Leave Strasburg where he is....unless the Yanks can get him for a song. The guy is a walking DL.

Second - If Cashman were to trade Miller, it had better be for a ready made SOUND and HEALTHY young "star" player/pitcher without very recent health issues

Third- Cashman should not even be entertaining Miller trade talks unless he has a move ready for Kimbrel or Chapman...then I can go along with a possible Miller trade.

If Cashman trades Miller for Strasburg........@%#@&#@%!

However, look closely, there isn't really anything except the writer's own thoughts and old news:

"One player that could make sense for Miller is Nationals starStephen Strasburg, who might be hard for Washington to extend.••• That is speculative; it isn't known if Miller's name has come up with Washington.

The Tigers, Diamondbacks , Red Sox , Astros and Blue Jaysare among teams looking at closers. •••The Blue Jays and Astros had interest in Miller last winter".

    John ("says Heyman") Heyman.

I dont think any Gm in their right mind would've said otherwise,
    including Cashman.

Interesting to see what this GM does........expect
Patchwork Yankee Pinstripes. Yeah, I'd like to
see who goes and who he gets in return.
I can see it now.................:mooning:.....he will again be
    pulling 'something' over Yankee Fandom!

Just curious - how would you rate the Gregorius deal?

    Are you being serious?
Or is this just an attempt to deflect any mention or suggestion that Cashman (to this point) has made a "good" trade in the acquisition of Gregorius?
Filling a high profile glaring vacancy left open with the retirement of a legend with a young inexpensive player.

Would you care to hear the answer to the question I asked of SOMEONE ELSE before you jumped in? Of course not.

And why should we waste our time going around in circles over CC?
I'll gladly give my answer to your question about CC but I don't think it would matter to you.....maybe if we could replace CC with another name another GM for Cashman, and another poster instead of me we would have a more rational honest discussion.

The GM said? Holy crap, I remember the days where the manager made these kinds of decision.

But if the "mgr" ultimately chose to put CC in the rotation and CC stunk up the place we would then tear up Trashman the idiot.
    Yes? No?

...myopically citing Cashman's good moves while ignoring the plethora of bad ones is hysterical.

You seem to have a nice pat answer for everything.
You're a legend in your own mind.?
Hope you're not overly sensitive whenever Gregorius' name comes up because it appears as if Cashman cleaned your boy Dombrowski's clock in that trade but cheer up, Shane Greene can still turn it around and maybe Gregorius will revert back to being a .230 hitter who can't touch LHP.

And he left the Tigers in.... SHAMBLES ?

Still think Pirela is a pretty good hitter and as a free swinger he needed ABs.
Doesn't have a regular position and isn't known for his defense but I think the Padres did okay in exchange Herrera.
