<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>"The Joba Rules are being rewritten altogether. Joba Chamberlain pitched the eighth and ninth inning of Wednesday night's 8-0 win over the Orioles, and afterward the Yankees announced that it was the first step of the phenom's much-anticipated conversion from lights-out set-up man to starting pitcher. "</div>

I admit I don't think Ian Kennedy is going to be anything more than an average starter, but if I'm a Yankee fan I'm totally against this. All it means is Joba pitching six innings (you know he'll be on a strict pitch count) and then giving the ball to Latroy Hawkins and Kyle Farnsworth. How is that going to help this team? You have to believe this is all being dictated by Hank complaining constantly to Cashman. He needs to calm down a little.

God, fucking, damnit. Joba should start next year, after Pettitte is gone. This makes no sense. Ian will be good. All he's going to be asked to be is a 4th starter, at best.

Why not try it a couple of times and see how he does? They don't have anything to lose by experimenting with the rotation at this point.

What is the bullpen supposed to look like when Joba is starting? Aside from Mariano of course. Who's the primary set up man in the 8th inning? Ohlendorf?

Because it hurts the BP in two ways. The obvious one is Joba not being in there. The other is him only going 6 innings. No way Girardi lets him overwork his arm.
