CF - Ellsbury (347) LF - Gardner (312) DH - Rodriquez (229) 1B - Teixeira (202) C - McCann (247) RF - Beltran (203) 2B - Drew (149) SS - Gregorius (213) 3B - Petit (194) NOTES: The bottom 4 batters have a COMBINED average of 189 & a COMBINED on base % of .254 How the hell is this team in first place with a 16-10 record?
...we have out best starter going tonight...don't know anything about Estrada but you gotta expect a win from the guys in pinstripes.
Last nights lineup aside from Ellbury & Gardner were hitting a combined 212, we cannot field a team like that & expect to be successful.
The entire division is flawed. It's going to come down to which team or teams makes the better improvements down the stretch.
Eventually the tough decisions have to be made, like how much longer do we keep sending Drew out there.
The defending A.L Champions are flawed. ......the entire league and MLB is "flawed" and need some "IFs" to be answered in the positive. The defending CHAMPS , Giants, won it all with a bunch of horsesh!t not named "Madbum" in the rotation and a less than scary offense (22 R above lg avg) while winning a grand total of four more reg season games than last year's Yankees.
^^^ it's been building for awhile, mess. Pitchers are throwing harder than ever before and selfish hitters no longer care if they strike out or not...plus, there are more and more pitching "specialists" coming out of the pen...and of course, the shift cuts down the offense as well.
You know, if he keeps performing clean, the regret woulda...coulda...shoulda, after his career is over is gonna eat him alive having squandered years between juice injury and suspension.
