They just walked Murphy to get to Molina and he dropped a three run homer on them to take a 5-3 lead in the 6th. Ouch. Fuck the Yankees!

If the Texas bullpen hadn't imploded in game 1, Texas could be going for the sweep right now. Texas has been pretty impressive.

Make that 6-3. Texas is laying the wood to NY at home. Nothing better than pissing on a Yankee fans night.

Sidenote: Is that Ernie Johnson calling the game?

I'm an Angels' fan. I wish there was a way that SF-PHI could be for the WS. I'm hoping SF wins it all.

This failure will cause the Yankees to go out and pay Cliff Lee an absolutely absurd amount of $$$, and then do the same to Carl Crawford.

If any sport needs a salary cap, it's baseball, but it would be called the "yankee cap".

Rangers have a lethal lineup. I really like that team, starting at the top with Ron Washington. Vladdy has always been my favorite slugger. He's a late 70's type slugger through and through.

Pitching wins this deep in the playoffs, because every team this far has hitting.

Its going to be an interesting series. I'm anxious to see what Lincecum, Cain and Sanchez can do against that lineup.

I understand, its not a 'sexy' World Series matchup, unless your a baseball purist, but it definitely has me intrigued.

(I realize the Giants haven't clinched yet).

I'd say it's a little early to assume the Giants will win. It's not at all unusual for a team to win two games in a row, especially when the team will be at home for both.

The Giants are certainly the favourite at this point, but there's a non-trivial chance that the Phillies will win two at home.

Its just the way I feel about the series at this point. They were dangerously lucky to get out of dodge against Lincecum the other night, kind of a fluky set of circumstances for them to win that one.

I'm not saying the series is over, hint my little disclaimer towards the bottom of my last post. I just feel that Giants offense is hitting a lot better than what a shaky Oswalt has brought. I think it ends tomorrow. Cain and Sanchez have been great this postseason.

I understand you're an A's fan and all.

They won't be facing Lincecum again, though. Sanchez and Cain are very good pitchers, but nothing close to guarantees (as Lincecum almost is...but so was Roy Halladay coming into this series. Things change quickly in baseball).

I saw your disclaimer, but saying that the Rangers-Giants World Series will be interesting is clearly stating a belief that the World Series match-up is set.

You're one to talk about bias. :) How's Adam Morrison's Larry Bird-like NBA career going?

I don't think my A's fandom causes me to underrate the Giants. Saying that there's a non-trivial chance that the team that won the most games in baseball this year could win two straight at home is not exactly hating on the Giants.

I never said that Lincecum was pitching again against the Phils. I just said that Cain and Sanchez have been pitching very well in their own right.

Generally the teams that are playing the hottest ball in DS, makes it to the WS. The Rangers and Giants have both gotten help from unexpected sources. Cody Ross and Benjie Molina. I'm giving the Giants the favor in the pitching staff, however Madsen has looked good for the Phils in their bullpen. Care to make a friendly wager on the outcome?

BTW, when in doubt, go the Adam Morrison route. Never ceases to shock me :)

Considering I said that the Giants are the favourites at this point, am I getting the Giants in this wager? ;)

I wasn't in doubt. You decided to bolster your "analysis" with a completely random and unprovoked "Anyway, you're just biased." So, I'd say you took the low road first. It's simply easy to Adam Morrison you on that road. (My turning "Adam Morrison" into a verb is probably the most production anyone will ever get out of him, incidentally.)

Saying your an A's fan is some kind of barb?

Fact of the matter is, as a Blazer fan I know I don't give the Lakers credit, when credit is due. Its just the way it is, bringing Morrison into the argument is pretty amateur.

Saying I'm an A's fan isn't a barb. It's an attempt to pre-emptively undermine my take on the series.

    Fixed. :)
