I said it in the other thread and will repeat it here…the Yanks are doing just as good a job of making themselves look foolish with this one.
It really has become exhausting, hasn't it? High maintenance doesn't even come close to describing it at this point. If Arod was an actress - he'd be Jennifer Aniston with all of this self-inflicting/look-at-me drama.

Maybe they need to tone it down and stop trying to battle ARod in the press. Cashman is either completely fed up with the whole thing and is blatantly trying to get fired...or he's simply a terrible PR man.
you are probably right that it would minimize the risk of getting more egg on the face if they just let him play... but then it might open the door for other players to try the same crap... not saying anyone else is that stupid, but who knows...
When & IF he gets back on the field I'll be real curious to see what the fan reaction is going to be.
When Arod takes the field at Yankee Stadium for the first time - he should have Anthony Weiner and Eliot Spitzer walk out with him so he can rationalize that the fans booing may not be completely directed at him.
