Marcus: A-Rod will be disciplined for unauthorized second opinion
    By Mike Axisa
Via Steven Marcus: The Yankees will indeed discipline Alex Rodriguez for violating the Collective Bargaining Agreement and getting a second opinion on his quad injury without notifying the team in writing. They have not yet decided what that discipline will be, but I would be surprised if it was something serious like a lengthy suspension.
A-Rod, meanwhile, issued a statement today saying yesterday’s fiasco was the result of “crossed signals.” You can read the full statement right here. Unfortunately, “enough doctors, let’s play” isn’t nearly as catchy as “we play today, we win today, das it.” Rodriguez is being re-evaluated again today, presumably by a team-approved doctor.

I said it in the other thread and will repeat it here…the Yanks are doing just as good a job of making themselves look foolish with this one.

It really has become exhausting, hasn't it? High maintenance doesn't even come close to describing it at this point.

If Arod was an actress - he'd be Jennifer Aniston with all of this self-inflicting/look-at-me drama.

I think they should suspend him until MLB announces their suspension...

^^^ I wonder if they can do that?...It wouldn't hurt my feelings if they did.

...then again, the Yanx already have egg on their face from the way this has been handled so far. Maybe they need to tone it down and stop trying to battle ARod in the press. Cashman is either completely fed up with the whole thing and is blatantly trying to get fired...or he's simply a terrible PR man.

you are probably right that it would minimize the risk of getting more egg on the face if they just let him play... but then it might open the door for other players to try the same crap... not saying anyone else is that stupid, but who knows...

When & IF he gets back on the field I'll be real curious to see what the fan reaction is going to be.

When Arod takes the field at Yankee Stadium for the first time - he should have Anthony Weiner and Eliot Spitzer walk out with him so he can rationalize that the fans booing may not be completely directed at him.

If those three walked out on the field together my old joke would fit perfectly.......

"What did the left nut say to the right nut? Don't talk to the guy in the middle he's a real dick".

Hey Rick, now it's funny, all you needed was for Vette to set you up. Kind of like Ed McMahon and Johnny Carson!

Amen to that hammer, but this country (on a whole) has shown to be dumb enough to still think that idiot is President material.
