I get giving a guy a days rest, but never the day after a 3 HR day...... Nice catch by Ellsbury btw-, I thought he was going to lose it in the Sun, or the ball bounce off the tip of his glove....sweet.....!!!
Stands to reason....Eovaldi getting avg of 7 runs in support. How else do your opponents bat over .300 and you sport a 9-2 record.
while Zach Greinke would be happy with a team who could give him 2 runs per game.....Eovaldi's riding a wave of offense, but how will he fare without.....?? not good IMO..... Yanx have needed these last 2 day explosions, after Friday's humiliation. It's this kind of offense, that leaves my fingernails down to the quick, yet these Yanx are finding ways to win, that baffles me still.....A sweep of the O's, 2 of 3 from the Twinkies, the team's got to be feeling good about themselves......
After all these years, never knew why they call it 'a tailor made double play'. It refers to the difference between a suit bought off the rack or one custom made by a tailor.......translation............. an easy double play ball is tailor made....the ball is perfectly hit for turning a double play. Whatever. It just sounds right.
Now, Yankees go into hot Dallas to play an even hotter Texas Ranger team for 4......let's give them what they did to Yankees at the Stadium.
No complete game for Eovaldi.......but terrific outing. I'd like to see him in a pitching duel. Team gives him a shitload of runs.
