I'm hoping they can get to Keuchel early. He's on short rest so make no be sharp right out of the gate.
I do not anticipate I will not reiterate I may have to recuperate But dear God do not have me constipate! That about sums up my feelings!
what the... got to give the man credit, he seems to be able to top all of his bad decisions with another better then any i have ever seen.
So the choice between Ellsbury and Gardner became Bret Gardner. Here were their splits against lefties this season which I guess was the deciding factor. Ellsbury 39/154 .253 2hr 11 RBI Gardner 47/110 .276 3hr 22 RBI
^^^I started to post the same thing...but here's the problem with Gardner, he loves to work the count which is fine vs sub par pitchers, but vs someone like Keuchel he can find himself in an 0-2 hole very quickly...and Gardner's splits with 2 strikes are discouraging to say the least.
If Gardner struggles I think it's likely both Gardner and Ellsbury get two ABs tonight. It was obviously a toss up between the two and Gardner won out. Young you simply can't keep out of the lineup because you have him on the team for tough lefties and he's .300 against Keuchel.
and I thought you were going to say Drew..... I hope to hell, Trashcan doesn't bring Crappy back n forth next year...!
Without over-analyzation and getting too involved in how a guy might hit with two strikes on him, or possible bloop hits, costly errors, hard hit balls hit directly at a fielder...crappy ball/strike calls by the HP ump ect..... IMO - it will come down to Keuchel, Tanaka and one reliever in a key spot from each team. If one SP falters a bit and the other pitches well, some team is going to need to get a couple of runs off the opposing bullpen. If both pitch well - same thing. If one or both leave one too many pitches out over the plate, then it could be off to the races. Not the time for a SP to stink up the place...I guess that's why they say "the name of the game is pitching"........from the first to last pitch. Oops.....this sounds too simplified. Good pitching "stops" good hitting (or drastically slows it down).... ....great pitching stops "everyone"! There are few "clutch hits" and/or opportunities if your team pitches like horsesh!t. Too little too late! Gotta be in it to win it. That's why the HR is a beautiful thing especially in BIG GAMES/post season - is anyone really expecting the Yanks (or any other) to put alot of "hits" together vs Keuchel? ...or any other GOOD SP?
it was until i saw lineup, never ever would i have thought ellsbury would be ridin pine, this makes absolutely NO sense, the guy is a proven PS player , no way in the world you can come up with a valid reason for him being benched, reg season stats mean squat for PS play... i cannot believe this, the most well rounded player on the bench in a do or die, WOW
