RHP - Nathan Eovaldi, (8-2 4.52 ERA) VS. RHP - Sonny Gray, (9-3 2.09 ERA) NOTE: Although Eovaldi is 3-0 over his last 3 starts he has not fared well against the A's, he's 0-1 with a 5.60 ERA in 3 career starts against Oakland. Lineups to follow...... CF - Gardner 3B - Headley DH - Rodriquez 1B - Teixeira C - McCann RF - Jones LF - Young SS - Gregorius 2B - Drew (Joe....seriously?)
Recent sad chapters in Yankee performance against a team they used to wallop. 2013 1-5 2014 2-4 This years: 1-3 On paper pitching favors Oakland this series, lets hope for a reversal on the diamond.
Yanks will be facing a team which can score runs and has excellent SP - 32-31 W-L record, and league best 3.00 ERA. Their bullpen has been very bad, currently 14th worse in the league,.... (4.35 ERA) and ten games below .500. (6-16) which is the most obvious culprit why this team is in last place. Yanks need their SP to keep the game close and get to the A's bullpen. That seems to be the going rate for beating the A's.
The offense had better wake up for this series. I don't know if that's going to happen against Gray but we can always hope.
Your team will win. All they have to do is look at the divisional race standings, check out the O's and use that for bulletin board material
I always enjoy tuning in and seeing all those empty seats behind home plate and behind the dug outs. Announce that sellout though.
It's sad how corporate everything has become. I mean even in their 2009 run the sound and atmosphere of the old stadium couldn't be duplicated. A lot of them are corporate seats so if not given out they go empty for the game.
I can't believe ownership hasn't noticed that during the telecasts & done something about it. I said it a while ago that they should get seat fillers to fill those seats during games. I mean hell, even if you only threw 20-30 fillers in those seasts, that would make a huge difference.
Joe WTF? 85 pitches & no one's on base. I just don't get it. I mean I like the kid Shreve but why burn the pen this early?
I don't understand the move of taking Eovaldi out. You let him finish the sixth and let the pen handle the final three if you want. Now a tie friggin game.
