Back in '99 Toronto traded Clemens to the Yankees for Boomer Wells I'd think pretty much an even swap. Can't see them sending Stroman to the Yankees who'd be the equal piece, Pineda. I think the Yankees need to hold on to the youngsters for now. Forget the playoffs, this team is like Detroit, mashers, a couple starters, and no God Damn Bull Pen.
...I'm not just thinking about now, I'm also thinking about the state of our pitching staff moving forward...even when the Holliday, Hicks, and Castro return the offense is not strong enough to overcome mediocre pitching, especially in the PS when they'll be facing teams with superior pitching...and the simple fact is that the Yanx arguably don't currently have anyone who's consistently good enough to be considered a "front end starter", they've got a bunch of #3's....and the need for the Yanx to add pitching has been my position since well before the season began.
Brewers: first place in their division fresh from beating the hell out of the Cubs yesterday. Yankees trying to avert a complete collapse prior to ASB. What a shit situation, wish the best for Jmo, kids been coming along nicely this season.
Granted, you are not alone that pitching was a Yankee need well before the season began. Yet, Yankee GM did not look much into this team's future when it came to the pitching situation. Team rode high first two months of the season.........then everything went south and the team's pitching deficiencies became more pronounced. Now, this GM will pay dearly. Besides, who wants to pick up a bunch of #3s?
Players keep shooting down any rally with boneheaded plays. Unreal. An ace pitcher on this team would have fits watching his teammates play dumb baseball!
Had to make an emergency run to the store so I missed the bombs on both ends. Given the pitching and errors on the Milwaukee side I'm wondering why the Yankees aren't doing better. Ah yeah but we see dorks like Headley, dumb plays by Gardner and such and wonder if the Yankees can come through. Yankee need a miracle like maybe a rain shortened win. Congrats to Choi, JM for a 2nd bomb.
