So I'm watching the game on ESPN with Andrew Miller pitching and the Cubs are mentioned as possible trade partners with the Yanks for Miller.
And Kyle Schwarber is mentioned as a possible return for Miller.
If the Yanks do trade Miller to the Cubs, Cashman better get more in return than only Schwarber. It's going to take more than Kyle Schwarber to acquire one of the very best more dominant relievers in baseball now, and for the past three seasons....and Miller is still reasonably young and under contract until 2017 at a very reasonable salary.

If they do trade Miller which with all their holes I think they need to I agree they better get more than miller and with the amount of teams needing end of game help should be a nice bidding war among cubs, rangers and indians. giants and maybe 1 or 2 others.

Lets see how well Cashman deals in this "hour of need". Though I am really pissed at how this franchise has dropped, the Yankees are still my team. Be nice to see Cashman step it up and go for a change and do a good job.

...the idea is to trade for the future, not just the next 1-2 years...Miller coming out of the pen doesn't really help us since he's on a team that cannot score runs and whose starting pitching is mediocre at best.

...I don't see this team going to the post season till 2018 at best anyway...how does keeping Miller help us when his value is at its absolute highest right now?

...again, trade him, Gardner, Beltran, and whoever else that might improve the roster and net us some talent for the future.

Even the Red Sox pimping ESPN Broadcast Team was talking about what a haul the Yankees could get back in conjunction no Tex or CC on the books as well. The chemist is not doing well either, regrettably he has to be paid to be released but it needs to happen. Most Yankee Fans are in agreement with sell, better to watch games knowing the duds are gone, improvement is in the future. Better that than seeing the same old cast and crew screwing up wet dreams.

...yup, 2 more years of Andrew Miller on the roster serves no real purpose...he might just as well be closing for the Twins. Serious playoff teams, not bottom feeders, will be the ones trying to pry him away from the Yanx.

Nobody is saying "keep Miller" or dont trade him.....Yanks should be able to get more than Schwarber in return. Yep he has shown some pop and is very young. Very young hitter catcher by trade and when I last saw him in LF 2015 NLCS he was terrible....I even mentioned at the time he looked like the Frankenstein monster out there and he's currently recovering from knee surgery, has yet to hit higher than .246 in minors and ML and strikes out a ton of times. He probably WILL become a good power hitter with a good OPS, maybe he'll even become a better all around hitter but where will he play? What about Sanchez (who may already be a better all around hitter) and they have Bird for 1b.
