Twins progressing quicker than many thought. Starting pitching shows some promise. Mix of youth and ex-Yankees always a threat to Yankee pitchers. All the variables have clicked so far and surprisingly they are in first place. This Yankee team has its work cut out for them!
BTW, Yankees have not won a series from above .500 ball clubs. Minnesota will present another obstacle for The Pinstripers.
As my all time favorite Yankee 3rd Baseman Graig Nettles once pointed out in his book "on any given day one Major League Team can beat another". I'm sure the Yankee players will respect what the Twins have done and be aware of that on game day. It's always been my experience that in April/May we see good teams struggle, bad teams play over their heads. Three hundred hitters are in the doldrums and One Hundred hitters are legend revivals. For not playing with a full deck this team has somehow survived that and Boner. We shall see what we shall see. Stanton excepted I'd like to see all of the regulars return. I see today that even though the Twins are sticking it to Houston the one time 13-2 Mariners are now in 2nd Place. And big bad Bryce Harper has hit a wall in Philadelphia. I don't care what River Avenue Blues stated, I'm glad the Yankees passed on Harper and Machado. The Yankees are wealthy, we hope they get healthy, but with Boner & Cashman I have doubts on the wise!!!!!!
May the Yankee Gods prevail. The twins have lost eight in a row in the Bronx, and 13 of the last 14 in the Bronx.
....^^^^ to the above- I heard BaBoone may use him at 2nd and SS, and spell Andujar at 3rd. Tulo an LeMahieu should be back I be next week?? Not sure whose going to go down? My guess Wade and Ford?? I bet Urshela can play 1st base, not sure? Neither Andujar or Gio have worked at 1st base. You'd think all Thunder Alley Specialists would be trained 2do the necessary footwork at both hot corners. I was not an Urshela fan, BUT, the Kid has really grown on me in a BIG and positive way....
Checking out MLB Network listening to talented analyst Dan Pleasac talk out of his ass and both sides of his mouth.
