Let's hope all the Yankee players have their head in the game. And please, no more
brain freezes at the plate and on the bases.

With Tank going today should be a win, but then again with this group one never knows.

The local team Rays, smug little twit Archer pitching, were defeated by the Giants. Sad day for Yankee Fans to have to hope the last place team keeps losing so the Yankees won't take their place.

    ___________

Not good- but on the other hand, it doesn't hurt to be kinda whacky once in a while by hoping the first place team loses and being 5.5 games out of first.

Yes, just a few games between the 1st & last place AL East, problem is the Yankees have three strong teams ahead of them and to this point have losing records against all . Other than Texas and Cleveland the opposition is not bad on paper but give the streaky nature of this team makes for unpredictable success. Other than a West Coast swing against Seattle and the Angels this team is going to have a tough 2nd half.

    Yup, I hear ya.
They have NOT yet given any indication of being capable of sustaining a good stretch of winning baseball.
But we still have to play the schedule and all we can do (like most other fans) is root for the team to somehow improve their overall game and become more consistent as the season moves on.
Yanks surely aren't going anywhere if they continue to play .400% ball combined vs Tor, Bos and Balt. (6-15)
Toronto has owned (13-6) the Yanks since last year- and this year (7-2).
Yanks are 4-8 vs Balt and Bos, (2-4 vs each), lol, consistently bad vs all of them!
They're on shaky ground and are probably one "big" losing streak from no return but so far no other team has been able to put a lot of distance between themselves and the Yanks.

I absolutely agree the Yanks MUST begin winning series and going on a prolonged winning stretch of games- as of now, they still might be fortunate for being "only" a handful of games out of first place.

...yup, like I said yesterday, the second half schedule is brutal.
