Get Ike Davis OUTTA HERE !
Put Refsnyder on first base and leave him there- if they want a warm body to back up REFSNYDER then call up Swisher.

Nolasco threw a better game than Pinhead but once again Sir Carlos and his white bat save the team from the dragon of losses.

Yanks loaded bases no out - if they can't score a run they don't deserve to win!

Better late than never as the bats woke up in the last three inning. Back to .500 so lets see what they can once again do from here.

Ellsbury two run single -Yanks lead 6-4, Yanks tack on another run 7-4.
Bottom 9th ~ Chapman gives up two solo HRs, holds on for 7-6 Yankee win.
A pretty big win for Yanks and we'll take it any way we can get it.

Glad the Yankees won, but this is the Twinkies, when they can start turning wins against Baltimore, Boston, and Toronto they'll be on the road to recovery.

My opinion - as of today, here and now, the Yanks are currently on the road to possibly being 4.5 games out of first place by the end of the day.
When we say "yeah but" it's the Twinkies - in cases like this I always take a step back and think about how things would be and how I would feel if the Yanks LOST today's game.
And maybe one of the first two games of this series? Think about it.

Yep, Yanks have to start taking series from division opponents but chance are they're still going to still lose a few to those teams regardless. Hopefully the Yanks can play approx .500 ball or so vs those teams in the remaining games and wipeout the "bad teams".

Yanks did manage to take 2/3 frlm Boston in an earlier series.
    We'll see how things go.

    Go Yanks!

Don't remember the season that the Yankees were 0-9 against the Bostons then finished up the year even, a great blast from the past. After the Yankees took that two of three from Boston the Orioles and Jays kicked their butts. Yankees are now 2-4 vs Boston and Baltimore, 2-7 against the Jays. To come back and be .500 against those teams is a formidable task. Not saying impossible, but with this team highly improbable. I realize the other teams have their shortcomings, but given the record thus far those shortcomings disappear when they play the Yankees.

They are at .500 vs. a very young Twinkie team. Do they get on the + side of .500
tomorrow? For this Yankee team.........not an easy task.

    ___________

In June 2009 Yanks were 0-8 vs Boston.
Then Yanks swept 4 at YS in August and won 5 of the last 6 finishing 9-9 with Boston for the season.
Don't know if this was the year you were referring to, but it was a very good year.

Well that would have been the year then. Yankees were skimping along as I remember did a series in Atlanta then caught fire. I also remember CC pitching against the Rays as a tune up game prior to post season and he got waxed. Took a bunch of crap from the Rays fans but paid it no mind. Yankees to playoffs Rays to Golf Course. The franchise has deteriorated eve since big George passed away in '10.

The Yankees paying the price for some bad contracts. The reprive has been Beltran and Sabathia's seasons up to the point. Then there's others such as Mccann who's batting .205 from the second half of last year to now.
