Yankees In “Serious Pursuit” Of Andrew Miller
By Steve Adams [December 1, 2014 at 8:37am CST]
8:37am: Joel Sherman of the New York Post tweets that he just spoke with Miller’s agent, who confirmed the Yankees’ interest but said New York is one of multiple teams still in the mix and wouldn’t classify them as a front-runner.

7:47am: The Yankees are in “serious pursuit” of lefty Andrew Miller, reports ESPN’s Buster Olney (via Twitter). Olney adds that given the teams that are showing the most interest in Miller, a four-year deal is likely, as others have indicated.

I'd much rather see Andrew Miller as a set up man to Betances. Miller has only grown better with age. His Post Season play has netted a .000 ERA. D-Rob can take a subway to Queens and play for the crosstown lowly Mets, IMO...

With Miller, we don't need D-Rob, sayonara.......!

You're saying you'd prefer Miller setting up Betances over Betances setting up Miller or are you saying you prefer Miller setting up Betances over Robertson setting up Betances? Sorry

I bet Betances/ Miller would share 8/9 innings in a closer De jur format.

Why not? This could also take a little pressure off Betances as he eventually settles in as the closer.

I'm saying I'd rather see D-Rob walk, let another team pay him for more than he is worth.

Then, let Miller pitch the 7th and 8th, setting the stage for Betances.

I wouldn't mind seeing D-Rob setting up Betances, (but not for the money D-Rob wants).... although I've lost all faith in D-Rob, he seems too hittable in crucial late innings.

However, I would prefer to let D-Rob walk, and bring in Miller to set up the 7-8th innings, for Betances.

Yet I like the Djour Format concept as well.

(sorry if I'm not making sense, I've been up since Sunday Morn, and am on my way to sleep this day away. It's been too long of a sleepless night, us Old Men, need our sleep on occassion) LOL....!

If I'm not making sense Hammer, please feel free to point out my discretions...

...I for one, would like to see the 3 headed monster of Miller, DRob, and Betances.

...and the Yanx first sign either Miller or DRob, it would not prohibit them from also signing the other.

Two leftys, two rightys, all with big time strikeout stuff...Miller was equally great vs LH and RH batters.

Could be a breathtaking bullpen. lol

    Offense still needs to score.

    ..."we"?...I don't remember saying that.

...besides the Giants won it all without much of an offense...it's all about pitching.

Yes the collective "we" as in many Yankee fans. And I'm pretty sure I can go search topics from Nov 2013 up to March 2014 where we all lamented to poor offense production....to the point of saying it couldn't get worse, lol!

Wow...what the fuck are you driving at? You want to pick apart my comment that regardless of a bomb proof bullpen, without the ability to score runs its meaningless. Please by all means. Show me what the Yankee record would be if we did allow any runs in innings 7 thru 9. I will happily retract my comment.

Rick, I think he's had some nice PR from scouts and baseball intelligencia, and his representation are marketing him very well and leveraging the interest.

And its not ALL about pitching. You still need to score to win. ;)
