Kaprielian has exceeded all expectations since joining the Yankees. Of particular note, his fastball velocity has reportedly been sitting in the 97-99 mph range, a massive jump from the 88-92 mph offering from his college days at UCLA. Note: the 88-92 mph fastball, exhibited at UCLA, is incorrect, I noted as much during a post on last years draft. Kap, threw 93 mph with consistency at UCLA. When necessary, Kap did throw 95 mph on the radar gun, 'tho it looked faster than 95 at a couple of games I saw him pitch at UCLA. He did a good job keeping hitters off guard, with both a heater, a change-up, good off speed curve, and an occasional hard slider....So his rise in mph is of no surprise, as much of the media reports were errant, published during the draft... definitely a cause for concern for a rookie... http://yanksgoyard.com/2016/04/27/j...ly&utm_source=FanSided Daily&utm_medium=email
