Matt, I think the rules are changed now for this. I believe the 20 mill posting to the japanese team is the same(who cares the yanks have the dough) but the player salary is limited to the international money fund that teams have which is I believe in the 6 to 8 million range which for a young 23 year old stud who throws 100 and can also hit is more than fine.

with the norks lobby missiles over japan and testing h bombs, i bet a lot of talent in japan would like to move their families somewhere safer. hate to say it, but its a buyers market.

yer right, thanks for the correction. I went back re-read the revisions to this years MLB drafts. Changes all around, changes I've done already forgot about, like the age limit requirements of Cuban, Japanese Free Agents, ie overseas foreign nations. Players like Moncada wouldn't be playing in MLB had this yr's revisions been in effect a year or so ago; ie being signed too young, and being insanely over paid just to sign, something we shouldn't see again if I'm not mistaken.

I just hope Trashman doesn't over pay for talent, or hand out 10 yr contracts to (obvious talented players in Japan), yet unproven in MLB, and/or over pay to keep an uproven off another AL East teams roster....

pardon me if I'm not making sense (at any given moment):
(right now I'm seeing double, and can't think straight to save my ass, too late, too long of a week, month, and too much running back n forth, with little to no sleep; putting out one fire after another, figuratively speaking). {I no sooner got my wife on home, tended too, when my Son's ashtma erupted this last week, resulting in 4 visits/ trips to Urgent Care in 6 days. The excessive heat, and smoke fall out of nearby forest fires have made this area air equivalent to the air at LAX}.

hopes on the horizon, as I can't burn this candle at both ends anymore, since there is no candle left.... (chuckle)... :smiley-ko:

hey lil.....been a rough couple of weeks. my dog died very unexpectedly last month. my wife was not able to come here because her dad is dying from pancreatic cancer, and now we have his ranch to care for as well as our place. and i just got back on my feet from one of the worst eye, ear, nose and throat infections I've ever had in my life.

other than that, looking forward to a trip to SF and Seattle, to be followed up by a week in Melbourne Australia, and then home for 6 weeks of vacation.

...for the most part, Asian pitchers have not transitioned well to MLB, partially because they have a lot of things to overcome as far as the requirements, differences, and schedule when attempting to move to MLB...they either don't live up to the hype, or flat out suck, or develope arm issues.

...very very few teams have gotten their money's worth from Asian players...and it's a very short list.

    Thx Lil.

Life is an ace pitcher that knows how to mix up pitches and keep you off balance and guessing. You just have to dig in a grind out your at bats and make the best of what you get.

Sometimes you get hit, and sometimes, not often but sometimes you get to piazza the shit out of Clemens.

I'll stand back now and wait for Robs thesis which will be forthcoming, lol!

thesis, lmao, you know me too well Tote...

actually not much more to say, you nailed it.

    To add: (no thesis required)
    - don't steal signs someone will might tell the teacher, actually steal 'em if you can....

Live fully each at bat, each play breath by breath, play as if this is the last game you will ever suit up for....

**(as an ace P), don't be afraid to throw chin music when warranted....

    embrace and promote Teamwork...

something to think about, don't be inhibited to tell the GM he sux....if he indeed does...!

    and last-
make friends with the fans, and give back to the fans in the stands, they ensure your living...
