WHats up fellas? THe other day I was wondering how much more Yao could improve and then i thought a lot. Have u guys seen him lately he has bulked up some. His arms are thicker. Hopefully his Chinese National team exits the Olympics early so he doesnt have to play a lot. If he can get the olympics out the way by Aug. then he will have a whole month to rest . I expect him to get better. I just wish he would stop playin for the Chinese team.
Of course Yao Ming will be better. He's 7'6", now about 300 pounds, and now has the experience to be one of the best centers in the league. He has learned from others, now speaks English, and undertands more about being in the NBA. I also think he will have a phonominal season with lots of scoring oppurtunities, getting way more boards, and blocking the stuff out of the rest of the players. Expect him to be the starting center at the 2005 All-Star game with Yao and McGrady leading their team into the playoffs.
yes of course yao will be gr8 nxt season. he is just going 2 continue to improve.. will it be his breakout season?? well some may argue he has oredy broken out, but he still has a long way to go. if he bulks up enough, he could easily be the best center of all time. with the strength of shaq, he wud be unbeatable since he has alot more skills in the high post compared to the big diesel. as for the olympics? well i wish yao and the chinese team luck. playing for your country is an important thing, and as HUGE a rocket fan as i am, i think yao shuld still concentrate on olympic success. shame to the originator of this post. ur not a yao fan.. u don't care about him, u only care bout rockets championship hopes.. lol ur not theo nly one though.
Man...its good to here that Yao has bulked up because he needed to. Yao will only become a bnetter player if he is more agressive and realizes that the Rockets are his team,Yao needs to call up Shaq and ask him what he did and he needs to have the same attitude once he is more agressive, takes more shots he could be a dominant player soon. This year he could get better but Im curious to see how him and T-Mac will work out,I think T-Mac will play a big part in how Yao progresses.
How about his stamina? He seems good for about 25-30 minutes, and beyond that, he's not very effective. But he'll be better with TMac.

Yao can only play effectively for about 27 minutes each game, and he should get that rate up to at least a 33, so he can have more playing time and help his team more. Sometimes, Yao is not aggresive enough. He lacks the intangibles right now to be a true celebrity. For instance, when Amare Stoudemire dunked in his face and screamed, Yao didn't retaliate at all; it was Steve Francis who threw an elbow at Stoudemire to save Yao some face and also to unleash his own frustrations. Yao has to learn to be a better attacker at the rim and get some brute strength to completely overpower his opponents.

Sure, Yao is a 7-6 behemoth with a lot of upside, but he still has a long way to go to reach Tmac's level. I think a lot of people in this board are underestimating what Tmac can actually do. Tmac is not just a scoring machine. He is an overaround great player. Since Tmac isn't the only offensive option on his team anymore, he will greatly contribute at every aspects of the game. Next year, he will prove all of his detractors wrong. Yao will be a superstars for many years, but IMO he will not surpass Tmac as a player.

I believe playing for China is good for him,he plays with a level of confidense, i wish he had in Houston.Playing every summer help his conditioning and give him experience. TMAC possese the court vision and has the motivation he needs to make YAO and the ROCKETS a better team.
Playing for his country should make him stronger and more aggressive...because all I've seen and heard was that he's the only good player on his team, and this alone will force him to play with determination and with heart (not like he doesn't anyways, but there's always room to improve). It'll also help him attack the basket...and he'll be ready for the season once it rolls around. He'll be a force to have to deal with...
yeah i expect big things from Yao this season...i hope he really improves his conditioning and stamina because he needs to be on the floor 38-40 minutes a game, not the 33-35 that hes been seein lately...
