<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Yao Ming's improvement as an NBA player is measured after each game with an unusual line, one that won't pop out in the box score.

In Sunday's 99-87 Houston Rockets win over the Magic, it read: four dunks, two blocked shots and one opposing player sent to the trainer's table.

It was a good night for the 7-foot-6 center, who has spent most of his second season in the league learning to throw his body around like a true big man. He joined the Rockets last year as polite on the court as he was off it, and while that attitude played well in China it wasn't quite what Coach Jeff Van Gundy was looking for in the NBA.

Van Gundy has demanded more aggressiveness out of his star, and with that new approach, everything else has naturally fallen in line. Sunday Yao scored a career-high 37 points.</div>

It's about time...I think everything's finally comin around and Yao is realizing how dominant he can be...China has a more formal, finesse way of playin ball, and in the NBA its more dominant and loud...Yao is finally adapting to his surroundings and its gonna be scary to picture what he can end up being when its all said and done...also, much props to Steve and Cuttino for sacrificing shots/points for victories...they could've easily made Yao's transition very difficult...

Looks like I was right. When Yao comes to play it shows. He played well against us though. I give him all props.

Yao is simply an amazing player. But I wouldn't say that this is 'new found' aggressiveness. After all, his previous career high of 30 was last season, so this game is fairly abnormal. Not that Yao can't perform like this more often, but he hasn't indicated that this will be a regular occurence.

I think that this last game was due to a combination of Yao getting more offensive opportunities and Orlando having a weak frontline. But Yao has been performing above average lately, and I think we can chalk that down to normal development of Yao as he reaches his full potential.

Yao has finally woken up from the blood of the Rocket's centers pool. Yao comes next after Hakeem Olawjuan(sp) and Clyde Drexler. Yao, the future MVP of the NBA.

Yao is gonna be a fantastic player in the future. Right now he's really good player. I would blame his low numbers and lack of aggressiveness to being too unselfish and not wanting to take all the shots and he has to work on that. If he becomes more aggressive he could easily average 25 10 and 2 blocks per game.

Yao deserves to be in the allstar game this year as the starting centre due to Oneal's injury
