Shinichi Yokota fired a five-under 67 on Sunday to win the Canon Open on the Japan Golf Tour. He finished at 14-under 274 and won by two strokes over Ryo Ishikawa at Totsuka Country Club. Yokota and Ishikawa shared the third-round lead, but it was Yokota who upstaged his better-known fellow leader. It was Yokota's second Japan Golf Tour win. His other victory came all the way back at the 1997 ANA Open. Takashi Kanemoto and Kazuhiko Hosokawa both carded rounds of six-under 66 on Sunday and shared thrid place at minus-11.
