Hey Mavs Fans, You are Mark Cuban, What do you do? Options: 1) Trade for Dampier and overpay him. Maybe he'll be worth it, or maybe we'll have another Raef on our roster. Last year, he was a legit big man, will that carry over. Would you give him $60 for 6? 2) Trade for Drew Gooden. Good inside player, but not the physical guy we need. He seems to daydream a little to me. But I think he's attainable for not much. Would it really help that much? 3) Trade for Dalembert. If it can happen. Would you be willing to part with someone like Josh Howard? 4) Hang with this roster. We all hate Walker, but he does put up numbers, particularly his rebounding. Let my man D J Mbenga play with Bradley and Fortson at center. Go with youth and let the contracts expire. I don't think it will give us much free agent money. 5) Trade for a tired old has been like Kurt Thomas. Fortunately, we didn't get Divak or Ostertag (I'm glad about that), but there are still many other "veteran" types out there. 6) Stromile Swift. I haven't heard any rumors on this. Love to see it but is there a chance? He'd fit, but can we work out a sign and trade? 7) Crawford or some Bull's big man? Send Finley home? Plus whatever it takes to get a sign and trade? He hasn't been signed yet has he? 8) Others? There must be some other option?
Happy that I am not mark cuban. What I would do is try and work out a trade with the sixers involving possible dalembert for walker. Since walker is diying to play in new york or philly it would be a good trade for both teams of course the sixers wouldnt be willing to part with dalembert so easily the mavs may be asked to take a few bad contracts with the deal like the contracts of greg buckner and possible DC's. I dont know how willing the sixers would be to trade dalembert but they are looking for a guy to back up AI so walker would be the perfect number 2. I think a trade that would make more sence is glenn robinson for walker. He is a post up small forward that could get in the paint alot for dallas basically the very opposite of walker.
I try and get out of my homeland and move to the United States of America as soon as possible. And the major reason is to get away of Fidel Castro. Opps, my bad.

I'd be willing to part with anything aside of Kirk, Curry, Chandler, Gordon, and Deng really.
Well Walkers wants out , he predicts that he'll be in a Knick uni, so I think they should try to work out a deal for Kurt Thomas.
Trust me Samuel Dalembert Walker trade will probally not happen. The Mavs just need to get some inside pressance and another PG,and most of all they need to start thinking about defense instead of always going after shooter and scorers.
First and foremost TRADE Antione Walker and Shawn bradley. Thats all we need to do, put them in a package trade them, and a filler for a Center and call it a day and we will be fine
8.) Other. I'd start over with this franchise, because I don't see the Mavericks going anywhere. Keep the young ones - Daniels, Howard, Harris - and trade away all the bad contracts. It'll take a Nowitzki to get rid of some of those, but in return get some quality players who have yet to enter their prime. If the Mavs keep the team they have now, I really can't even see them making the playoffs. The Mavericks have absolutely no defense, and I don't see that changing unless they have a full team makeover. I'd like to see them think for the future ( 2-3 years ahead ) and get some young guys with promise. I'd really like to see them do something like what the Pistons did - remake their whole team and think defense for once. This is just what I'd like to see though, eventhough it's probably what's best for them. I doubt Cuban will ever trade away Nowitzki though, even if it was the best for the team.

On the other hand, the Mavs are the funnest team in the NBA to watch, they are the best offensive team in the league, and they do win a lot of games. As a season ticket holder, their style of play is something I wouldn't want to give up. I do believe they can still be the best offensive team in the league and become maybe the tenth best defensive team in the league if they give more minutes to defensive players like Daniels, Howard, Bradley, Najera, Mbenga, and hopefully add a real center. If they do this, they will be in the running for the championship every year anyway. I'm not convinced that Nelson considers defense a priority though.
