When trading for a player, you have two days to trade that player again. Noah and Henderson can be traded tomorrow or December 15th. The newly acquired players from Brooklynn has two days left. Will we be trading these players tomorrow or the next day?
Um, I don't think that's right, Mags. I'll bold the one that applies here: We used exceptions (and not cap room) for Henderson and Plumlee and Vonleh, so the bolded applies. If we sign Connaughton he would fall under number 5.
My understanding is that either can be traded again, but as the only guy on the Blazers' side of the deal.
That 2 day rule has to do with a trade needing to be finalized within 2 days in a sign and trade scenario, IIRC.
two months. But if we have a bunch of cap space, and trade for players using that cap space, those can be turned around immediately. For instance, if we have a ton of space and take, say, Tiago Splitter off of SAS's hands with 2 future firsts for a 2022 top-55-protected 2nd, and make the same deal with MIA for McBob, we can trade them as a package the next day in a trade for Blake Griffin. Or something. But we can't trade Henderson and Plumlee together until August 24th.
So if we wanted to do a trade for Hibbert with Kaman, Henderson and Vonley it would have to be done today.
I think Neil traded for the guys he wanted. If you look closely we traded 2 players that played passively with little urgency. Every player we got in return Henderson, Vonleh, Plumlee, Connaughen and Diez all play with high motor.
