...to get them out of the way for the future. Back when the Spurs just got Duncan they went up against Sloan's Jazz in the WCSF and got murdered. They were simply beaten by the better team at the time, but they learned a lot from it. Next season they went on to win the title.

Not saying its the same situation, but I see a lot of similarities. In the end y'all will be a much better team for this season's run, win or lose. Portland will continue to contend beyond this season while the Spurs have maybe next year before irrelevance for the foreseeable future.

I wish we had your bench and your coach.

Again with the smugness. Why are you here?

Time for me to leave because it's obvious this place sucks right now.

I agree. This series is showcasing our glaring deficiencies in a major way.

Thank you sir, may I have another.

I don't think it was smug. I think he was genuinely trying to be supportive.

Its not smugness, I'm complimenting your team. You guys have a great core, a coach that will gradually improve (he's a Carlisle disciple ffs), one of the best FOs in the league, and a great city behind your team. In a decade it'll be the rest of the league looking up to Portland.

    I agree with you Rz4k.

I wanted to face you guys in the second round because I knew Dallas wasn't the better team.

The Blazers can't move forward unless they face top tier talent.

Building the bench is the easy/easier part. Now that Portland has a solid core players will wanna come play for the Blazers. It helps that Portland is a city people wanna live in.

That's what everyone said 7 years ago. You don't understand how transient success is to POR fans.

But we had a big run of bad luck with injury. We could have if our players stayed healthy.

Repped. Good post. THanks for not being a dbag. I see we are going to have to take our lumps. We achieved more than anyone on this board or on tv or on the radio thought we would. TO me this is all gravy and a beautiful experience for them to learn from.

I honestly never felt Portland has had as great a core as this since the 90s. Roy was good and all but he wasn't going to carry Portland to a title. Oden was a retarded pick and everyone knew it; doubt your FO makes the same mistake twice. Those 90s teams prolly win a title if not for Jordan; same with Utah for that matter.

Get lost with that bullshit. 'Everyone knew Oden was a retarded pick' my ass, nostradamus. If only our franchise had tanked in order to get a #1 pick when we were already a playoff quality team..........

Oden was THE pick and everyone knew it. I didn't see hardly anyone at that time picking Durant over Oden. Maybe one or two people. That's it.
