Im hearing on ESPN Radio that a report in the Oregonian is that the Bulls and Blazers are possibly talking about a trade for Luol Deng involving Jerryd Bayless and Joel Pryzbilla. Have you guys heard anything?

Actually, it would seem if this is going through, then Batum for CP3 might be more likely. But can we do that w/o Przybilla's contract?

Deng for CP3 and Okafor, and it works for the Bulls because they have a ton of cap space to absorb CP3's salary. It'd give NOH a starting SF who's only 24 and $67M in salary relief over the life of Deng's contract.

Now if you guys had the cap space... I'd say go for it.

Seriously, wouldn't this indicate that Batum will be moved in a package?

    Come on, CP3!

If this somehow nets us CP3 i'm all for it. If not then not a fan of another SF when we have batum.

You're not landing CP3 for Batum.

Would love it, but don't see it. You are right, there goes our 1 big expiring contract (other than Miller) and then I still doubt Oden is a part of any CP3 deal, which leaves Batum as the centerpiece along with a nice prospect or two in Baylesss and/or Rudy plus Miller's expiring. IMO that is not enough expirings.

I should clarify. I'm not fan of another SF who has a pretty large contract when he would be coming off the bench behind Batum.

Horrible trade. Horrible fit, horrible contract, injury risk, not worth the risk. If the Blazers go trhough with this, I may start questioning them.

It was written that NOH wants cap relief - someone has to take Okafor, Posey, or Peja (big contract) as part of the deal.

The Deng deal gives them a starter and the Bulls would be taking back one of those contracts. It just works.

And I do like Deng. He's not in the Melo/LeBron class of SF, but he's one of the top few in the next tier.

Actually, despite what you might have heard, Portland hasn't turned its GM-ing duties over to message board posters. Not that we aren't standing ready if called upon!

That trade makes very little sense. If Chicago trades Deng it will be to a team with caproom because they have a shot at another FA and want to clear out space. OR in a sign-and-trade for one of the FAs (but that isn't happening, because Deng is no longer a very attractive contract).

That said, I've always liked Deng as a player. But Portland does not need ANOTHER injury-prone player, and Deng has recurring back problems.

Trade Checker is failing me on the Deng to Portland then on to NOH trade. Keep Batum send Deng take back contracts, but how?

Ugh, I need to do teh ,maths.

    Deng, AMEC, Rudy + ?+ Rooks + cash + Picks = CP3 + Okafor or Posey?

    Deng = 11.5M salary - Joel 7.4M = 4M cap savings + Bayless 2.3M = 1.7M cap savings for the Bulls.

Bulls have only one guard on the roster right now.

Can't trade Deng with other people, so it would have to be two separate trades, like Deng for Okafor, and other stuff for CP3.

Deng for Okafor works, though NOH probably doesn't want the $1.5M-ish extra salary on the books. The other trade would have to be acceptable to them, too.
