    Your team statistics match up with the Mets.

    RUNS = Yankees (373), Mets (376)
    HITS = Yankees (770), Mets (747)
    HOME RUNS = Yankees (88) Mets (87)
    AVERAGE= Yankees (243) Mets (235)
    TEAM ERA = Yankees (3.74) Mets (3.85)

    Some could argue that as long as they don't mess it up the Mets are in better shape moving forward. They aren't bogged down with hideous long term deals and they know they can spend and trade to build around David Wright. Harvey certainly looks like an absolute stud and Wheeler should be pretty good also. They have some other well regarded prospects as well.

    The Mets better have some good young players, they've been one of the worst teams in baseball for years, by that they really should have more at this point.

    But NY has some good pitching, so I'm not that concerned, they'll find a way to improve the bats, just getting rid of Hafner will do worlds of good, his days are numbered.

    Hey Rusty. In addition to Jeter and Arod coming back with Granderson, Cervelli and Pineda not too far behind, there are improvements on the way. There are also some moves out there. Can Cashman make the right move(s)? I've been a supporter of his but am not so confident in him these days.

    ...the Yanx' ERA in the AL is much more impressive than the Mets' NL ERA...and the Mets have not had to deal with nearly the injuries as the Yanx this year...overall, I'm proud of this team.

    Proud yes but I would love to have a young arm like Harvey in the Yankee system.

    Sadly there is nothing in the farm system that says we'll have anything like him.

    As it stands now, we have a very little talent in the high minors, however from Double AA down I am encouraged with what I see.

    Although to early to project, this past draft class with Jagielo, Kutoh, O'Niell have started well, along with Williams ( .334/.367/.418 in his last 150 plate appearances), I feel Austin is still a potential bat/ corner outfielder. The other #1's from the this past intrigue me, no data to support, but what if Judge is Giancarlo Stanton lite? Doesn't seem like much when you look at it, but!

    Let's not forget the Yankees have been playing scrubs and still on the winning side, because they're a winning team, add some real talent and they'll compete, while the Mets still stink even with some great young players, because they're the Mets.

    So while the OP point is taken, I'm not looking at the Mets as the future, and the Yankees the past, not until I see them win something besides good draft picks.
