Wade's gonna be better next season. And at 24, his careera's just started. He's already the best guard since Jordan to dominate on offense without shooting 3s. Imagine how good he'll be when he's able to develope a deadly outside shot. How would you guard him? He's already scoring from every other part of the court. And that's just gonna stretch the defense and open everything up for him inside. And if he can stand to be a better defender, one day taking on the task of locking down the other team's best player. If he could do that in the East vs LeBron, Carter, Iverson, Pierce, etc...he could get serious consideration for the DPOY. The only thing that's gonna set him back this season is fatigue from the finals to the FIBA tournament and back to training camp a month later.
i've been thinking the same thing during the whole offseason. i cant even imagine anyone else getting the MVP next year, he'll take it with such ease. and if he does develop at least a decent, consistent 3, then nobody should even try to guard him because they'll just get embarassed. i wouldnt be surprised if hes been working on his 3's lately. the only thing that i dont agree with you with is the DPOY, i think he'll improve defensively, but not all the way to the best in the league.
There is absoloutely no way Wade would ever get considered for DPOY at this stage in his career. Sure, he gets a shot block and almost 2 steals, but he's only an above average defender. And this is coming from a guy who knew Wade was this good from his first season. Anyway, definately MVP consideration, but not as long as you guys still have shaq.
^ I'm not sold on him winning regular season accolades, but if he ever were to improve to a lock down defender, he would get serious consideration for DPOY bcuz of the great scoring guards in the East... I do think he's a favorite to get ther Finals MVP this year though It's funny that I wrote this and then Mo Cheeks says the exact same thing a day later : http://msnbc.msn.com/id/15339627/ <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">“He’s going to only get better,” Philadelphia coach Maurice Cheeks said. “I don’t know him, but he looks like a guy that loves to play, loves to make his teammates better. To think that a guy won a championship in his third year and is only going to get better is a scary thought. “Everyone said he couldn’t shoot a jump shot. Well, he got better at shooting a jump shot, kind of like when people said Michael Jordan couldn’t shoot a jump shot, and then he made his jump shot even deeper into a 3-pointer.”</div> Wade also said this: http://msnbc.msn.com/id/15339627/page/2/ <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Wade’s ready to get working on that one, ready to prove Riley’s right that he already has all the tools he needs. “We’re coming off a championship and we can be better this season,” Wade said. “Not just in the beginning, but all the way through because of the continuity that we have already.” </div>
<div class="quote_poster">Carter Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Yeah, it's crazy. He's not even in his prime yet.</div> exactly, theirs still a lot of time for him to grow, and hes already become a great player over three years.
ummm yeah wade is good! and he will get really better... but i dont think that he would get the DPOY of the year within the next 2-3 years... i mean come on... kobe can lock down the star players of the other squad like carter, lebron, etc but he's only in the NBA all - 1st team on defence... i think wade has to develop a solid offensive game before exerting more effort on D.

Everyone knows that the West has all the Power players and the East has all the Guards... I'm not disagreeing with y'all, just trying to explain my point.
