In the 7 almost 8 years I have been watching baseball, I have saw the Tigers loose 119 games and go to the World Series and blow a 6 game lead in 7 days to miss out on the playoffs on game 163. But I think one season will forever stand out in my mind for the rest of my life. 2006! The 2006 was a great season and the highlight so far in my 8 years of watching this team. I remember it like yesterday, Jeremy Bonderman winning 16, Kenny Rogers coming over from Texas after the camera guy thing in 05, Justin Verlander and Joel Zumaya coming up as rookies, and have a great offense with a dominate bullpen and a great starting 9. Brandon Inge had is first good season hitting 28 HR's, Craig Monroe hitting 27 HR, Curtis hitting 20+, Maggs hitting 20+ with a 100 RBI, Guillen had a 100 RBI season, Pugde winning a Gold Glove and Polanco just being as solid and consistent as ever. Then the bullpen with Jones, Rodney, Grilli, Zumaya, Walker,Ledzma, and then are staring rotation, Verlander, Bonderman, Rogers, Maroth. It was just a great season. It sucks that we lost the last 5 games and lost the division again. But then that magical playoff run, beating the Yankees, sweeping the A's on that Maggs walkoff, and then the disappointing loss to the Cardinals in the World Series. But none the less still my all time favorite season and I will never forget it.
