Who you think are the teams that have had the best off season here are my rankings so far.

    1. San Antonio Spurs
    2. Minnesota Timberwolves
    3. Orlando magic
    4. Los Angeles Lakers
    5. Houston Rockets
    6. Miami Heat
    7. Detroit Pistons
    8. Utah Jazz
    9. Philadelphia 76ers
    10. Denver Nuggets

Those are the power ranking I believe here is why.
    1. Spurs have been able to keep there entire team in tact. They got a huge break when they resigned ginobli because bruce bowen opted out and took less money for a longer deal. Also they were able to get barry on the team so they are number 1 on my list.

    2. The twolves have kept there entire team in tact excluding hassel who we are still considering if we will match the offer that portland made to him. Though the wolves have not made any upgrades so thats why they are not ranked number 1.

    3. The orlando magic went from having no back court to having so many good players in the back court they dont know who to start. They now have bogens who can also play the three in the back court, jameer nelson, steve francis, cuttino mobely, and deshawn stevenson who can also play the three. They gained a good big man in kato. All this for tmac.

    4. Los Angeles Lakers were able to aquire something they needed badely .YOUTH! They got young 3rd year swing man caron butler in the deal that sent shaq to miami. Along with much improved lamar odam this duo will help bring showtime back to the los angeles lakers with there youth and athletism. Partnered with all star guard kobe bryant and gary payton this team will become a run first team. Also with great newly aquired passing big man vlade divac.

    5. Houston Rockets with there aquiring of tracy mcgrady they have made a huge step in becoming a contender. Last season for the orlando magic just Juwan Howard and Tracy Mcgrady were the second highest scoring duo in the nba partner them with yao. You got something special. Only reason they are not ranked higher is because they have no point guard now. So until then this is were I rank them.

    6. Miami Heat. For this team I will keep it short and sweet. THEY GOT SHAQ! Thats why there ranked here. You would ask me why not at the top? They lost great depth in this trade with the lakers there for if a team uses the hack a shaq defense its over for them.

    7. Detroit Pistons. Though they lost power forward emit okur they found him a great replacement in Mcdyess. Mcdyess comes with bagage since he has injuries, but he may be the missing peace for a pistons repeat. Also they resigned power forward rasheed wallace. That may be enough to take them to the finals again.

    8. Utah Jazz. This teams front line has become increadable. They now have kirealinko (sp?), boozer, and I think still have clark. Work harpring in there some way thats a very good front 3.

    9. Philadelphia 76ers. With there newly drafted rookie they seem ready to make a playoff push. With a healthy AI this team may have a magical season. Also I have heard rumors of walker being traded to philly. Or possible dampier if they get those two or either one they will move up on this list.

    10. Finally the nuggets. Camby, nene, K-mart, and melo, possible the deepest team out west. With the best front line out there. Will be a hell of a team to face next year.

How can you rank the Lakers 4th?

    I will use DA's quote

"You do not trade Shaquille O'Neal. Repeat. You do not trade Shaquille O'Neal. Once again, you do not trade Shaquille O'Neal"

How you have the Nuggets at 10th and L.A at 4, makes me wonder...

Orlando at 3? the T-mac trade was somewhat decent but their latest move trading away Gooden and two other players for Tony freaking Battie, Was a horrible move.

I would have to put the order like this:

    1. Utah Jazz

    2. Denver Nuggets

    3. Miami Heat

4 (only if Q's offer isn't matched) Suns

I have to put Utah number 1 because they signed Boozer and re-signed almost all of their players...Not too far behind are the Nuggets and Heat...The Nuggets got what they wanted in Kenyon Martin and the Heat just got SHAQ

    1. Heat - Acquired the most dominant player
    2. Rockets - Acquired McGrady
    3. Jazz - Acquired Boozer and Okur
    4. Nuggets - Acquired Martin
    5. Timberwolves - They have done a lot by being silent (Don't fix it if it's not broken)

I would not put Houston up in the top 6 or 7. I understand that they got a great teammate to team up with Yao, but if Jeff Van Gundy was complaing about Francis not getting the ball to Yao I think T-Mac is going to make it worse! I think Houston will stuble in the beging of the season until T-mac realizes that he has to be a team player on this team...Also they don't have a true starting PG at the moment, and they traded their entire backcourt plus Kelvin Cato to get T-Mac and Juwan Howard...I don't hate T-Mac he is one of my favorite players but what I am saying is T-mac has to learn that he isn't the only all star on his team anymore...It will take time for T-mac IMO to fit into that role...Thats all I have to say...

I personally think the Utah offseason has been fairly overrated. They got Carlos Boozer, who may be good, but, he's very, and I mean VERY undersized in the West. At 6'7", he's not built to be a Western power forward. I don't know if he's going to be that big of an impact or if he's going to end up being worth that $67 million dollar contract. It'll be interesting to see how he adjusts to the style of play and the size of opposing big men. Than Mehmet Okur got way too much. The guy, to me, isn't worth the $42 mill he's going to make. He's been a career bench player and to me, the only reason he got so much is because of the lack of premier big men. He got a lot because of the potential to possibly become one, though I don't believe he will. So, with those signings alone, I don't think that the offseason has been a very good one. They got an undersized power forward and career bench player. I don't see how that makes it so good.

How do some of you have the Pistons ranked so damn low... I mean they were the champions last year!!! And this year, they have an even better team!!! Milicic is improving, McDyess could be breaking out this year, and they got that european player from the euro leagues they drafted awhile ago who's supposed to be good... jeez you guys.

1.Denver Nuggets aquiring an all star for t hree first round draft picks is just a strait up steal.
2.PHX Suns they got a above average PG in Steve Nash and could possibaly get Q-Rich there team has a lot of potential next year.
3.Detroit Pistons Re signing Sheed makes them title contender again next year.

I just did a top three.
