I would give Diaw the start over Kurt Thomas.

Diaw will not start but I expect him to get more time than Kurt coming of the bench which is why I think he'll win the 6th man. They only brought Kurt in to play with Amare. Amare wanted a big man so that he didn't have to play center and Kurt's mid-range shot gives Amare room to do his thing. I know Diaw has more skills but for the reasons above and Kurt's outstanding D for us last year I think he is our starter.

NashBellMarionDiawStoudemireAmare can play Center effectively, and Diaw was very good at PF for us this previous year. Therefore, I think he earns the starting spot over KT.

Amare hates playing center, again that's another reason why KT is here. And I don't think it's smart putting him out of position and making it harder for him coming off the knee surgery. Our defense would be much better with KT at center and Amare playing his normal position. Diaw would be great to have off the bench because he could relieve any player on the team and come in and give the team a boost.

Oh. I didn't know that he hated playing Center. In that case, I agree with having Amare at PF, KT at C, and Diaw as a sub.

Amare had a career year playing center so I don't think he hates it that much.

I'm telling you he does and that's why he ASKED for KT to come here. He had a career year because he's getting more experience and improving like other players do and he just had Nash. Amare was only in his 3rd year when most young guys break out and the only stat he really improved in was points and FG% and that's what happens when you don't have a PG for half of the year before and only 1 other good teammate. He'd do best at PF, that's his position. Now if he doesen't regain that athleticism again he'll have to start playing center. KT will be gone after next year.

I disagree. I think he had a career year because he had the paint all to himself with having 4 shooters alongside him. Put a center in there would clog the paint allowing more double teams.

That's the thing with KT. He's the center they picked because he has that mid-range shot. He opens up space for Amare on the offensive side. If it was another clogger like Dampier then he would not be here. The D is also better with two big men like them(like when Hunter and Amare played in the playoffs two years ago) instead of Diaw and then Amare playing out of position and him being a below-average defender anyway.

Yeah I agree and think Diaw should be Amare's backup since I think Diaw plays much better with Amare out of the game. Diaw likes to hog the paint as well so I guess you use Diaw as a 6th man type. If Diaw can learn to shoot farther out than it would work well.
