What workouts/exercises do you do? I try to do a bit of exercise daily, just to keep fit. I have 2 dumbbells that i use pretty much everyday for about half an hour along with about 30-50 sit-ups. I also do quite a bit walking around during the day.
Does your workout routine show improvement? I like working out from home, I don't have a lot of time for the gym plus I rather not pay for it.
I go to Lifetime 5-6 times a week. Two days I mainly focus on cardio (I prefer to use the bike), and other other days I'm usually doing heavy lifting switching between all body areas. I'm pretty skinny/lean so I'm trying to put on 5-10 lbs. I weighed like 124 before I started (back in December) and now I'm at 138. Not too bad.
Damn, you skinny man. The bike is better than a treadmill, less pressure on your legs and knees. You use protein? Can add some pounds.
It does actually. I've noticed my biceps growing and some abs starting to show I could be doing a lot more and have greater improvements, but i'm happy with how its going atm. I agree. At home you can work at your own rate, you don't feel embarrassed about what your doing or how much your lifting, you can fit it around a busy schedule and most importantly, it doesn't cost a penny @Ronan - Nice one man. Keep it up! What i wish i'd done from the start is take pictures every month or so to show the improvement. What i'm currently finding hard at Uni is eating healthy, but i will try and get on top of that to become fitter
Yea, Uni is got to be the number hot girl killer. Once they leave momma's cookin; they're destined for doom unless taught well. I'm lifting every day at home, curing about 20 in each hand and I try to get done about 150-200 situps. We have a treadmill too, but it's outta commish at the moment until we fix it. I play basketball and indoor football - so sports keeps me going too.
Yeah, but it suits me. I eat 5-6 times a day and consume ~120 grams of whey protein (not including the intake I get from my usual diet).
My eating habits are shit. I eat once, maybe twice. I had a personal trainer he was in shock when I told him. I just don't have the urge to eat a lot. Must be my weed diet
That's horrible. A good workout, I know for me cause I dunk - is standing on the bottom step of your stairs (if you have any). While on the very end of your foot, just before the toes, lift yourself up and down. Works your calf and quads nicely.
As a basketball player, my workout is usually 4 days of cardio and 3 days of strength training. My usual workouts consist of burnouts, calf-raises, squats, and flat out runs. If I'm not doing a leg-related work out, I'm usually either benching or doing push-ups/sit-ups.
This discussion of the workout in this thread is best suggestion for the basketball player. I am going to add these exercise in my workout plan.
I recently started and I put on about 5 pounds in about a month. I try to switch up what I do. Its either Arms/Back/Legs or Arm/Chest/Legs when I go mainly, do other things. I usually do my legs last then go and ride my bike down the trail a couple miles and head home. I eat a lot when I get home, mostly because I am actually really hungry..
Hi swood, I ran early morning for an hour daily and hit the gym in the evening. I do exercise regularly to avoid many major illness like diabetes, cardiovascular disease, blood pressure, weight gain etc
I'm pretty proportional, but heavier than I want to be. I've had shin problems ever since I broke my foot 8 years ago, and think that losing some weight would help since I need to get back to running. My doc told me not to run for a full year, but to bike, swim, etc. My year is now up, and I can barely run 1/2 mile. I'm scared to run more until I lose some weight, just in case. I've started doing high-rep, low-weight training surrounded by cardio, but I've been told that to burn more calories, I should be doing high-weight, low-rep exercises (like 5 reps 4x). Anyone care to comment?
Doesn't help if she likes being on top most of the time. But hey ho, i'm not complaining. I've been doing shitload of walking to and from work recently and then hitting the weights for a bit in the evening
