Re: You're thoughts On Phil jackson's decision to let players play through their slumps even in the playoffs.I personally was digusted when Phil kept on playing luke walton even though everythign he did had a negative impact. That trust however gave luke some confidence and we saw a different player come playoff time.Phil decided to let smush play through his slump during the playoffs even though we were getting zero defense or offense from him. I think that was a flaw on Pj's part part, this is the playoffs. No gambles needed to be taken. Sasha was actually doing better than smush in the last 3 games and generally was clutch during the series. Had we started him, he could've gotten into nash's head like he did in game 3 and could hit the occasional 3 something smush couldn't. He would also hustle more than smush did.I personally believe smush should've been benched.edit: My grammar needs improvement. I always use you're when it's not needed.
Re: You're thoughts It's an unusual thing to do, but with his success, it's gotta have a positive effect on the team.. build confidence, solve on court problems, etcSometimes I dont agree with his non-calls, but what do I know?
Re: You're thoughts I got pissed off with Phil in Game 7, but not in the other games. They weren't expected to beat the Suns, they were supposed to just develop. Their main goal for the 06 season was to actually get in to the playoffs.
Re: You're thoughts We should of started Sasha from the get go. I mean he gives other PG's problems with his D. Why not start em, and get into Nash's head.I was disappointed in Phil that whole series pretty much. Seeing how he never found an answer for the pick and roll that picked us apart.
Re: You're thoughts I understand Phil is a f*cking goat, and he likes to flirt with the sheep on the sidelines, but once in a while he has to wake up and call a timeout!

And there doing it against Dallas
Re: You're thoughts Yeah, but Dallas will hopefully get their way. They're showing just that right now.
Re: You're thoughts Not playing Sasha is the reason the Lakers aren't playing right now (assuming they could've gotten by LAC which I think they could).
Re: You're thoughts Yes, for any team it is a good idea. The only way players are going to get over their slump is by playing through it. If they are benched whenever they get into a slump they will lose confidence in themselves and they will get even worse as a player. And plus, if you arent shooting the ball well for a while, then just dont take as many shots, and try to play extra hard on the other things, make crisp passes, play good defense and get boards.Just my 2 cents.
