I know Messier spoiled us but I see no leadership on this team. Even when Cally is out there I don't see him as a captain. He just seems to skate around defeated just like the rest of the team. Along with the obvious skill issues there's just zero fire out there. I see a real lack of desire. AV is wrong in that you just don't bench the same people over and over especially if they're young. Nash deserves a benching in the worst way for example. It's rinse and repeat game after game with this group.

I've said that for weeks. Lack of leadership on this team. That is why I have no issue trading Callahan at the deadline and not re-signing him if he wants too much money in UFA. It's also why I think Clarkson is worth rolling the dice on.

The one drawback to AV is he is WAY hands off. I have read a few things recently where he barely talks to the players and let's them "police" themselves. I have to be honest and say I don't like that style. I will not knock him though, and think he deserves next season with his type players here before anyone really gets on him, but that does concern me with AV.

Team definitely needs a leader and cally is not he. Would trade him in a second.

We want to trade the whole team. Who wouldn't we trade? Kreider and McDonagh? Anyone else...LOL. We are on fire now. Trade this guy. Trade that guy. I love it.

Right, trade everyone...LOL. We all need to settle down a little. We are struggling no doubt, but we have some nice core talent here. We need to make a couple of smart trades. Some smart signings this summer. And then we'll go from there. What we cannot do is overreact and deal 1/2 the team away, that is a recipe for disaster.

I know it isn't easy, but we all need to chill a little.

Even if we wanted to we couldn't deal the whole team like some of you guys want to do...:).

I don't have problems trading guys that want a ton of money and aren't players who can carry the team. Girardi and Callahan can't carry a team and both will want 5 million. No thanks.

The team isn't that good so the sad reality is a good majority of it is replacable.

Amen dump, we need to make some smart trades, I agree. That doesn't include dealing the whole team away. I still see no way we deal Cally unless he is a nut ball on his contract demands. If he take 4.5 to 5 per for 4 or 5 years he will be here.

I feel kind of the same way with Girardi, but to a lesser extent. Him I would look to deal more actively, but I would expect the same kind of deal for him as Cally. I think around 10 mill or so combined should get them both back if we want them. 10-11 mill combined tops IMO. If either wants much more, we deal them for sure then.
