How does someone put up zero assists in 45 minutes while their teammate is going off for 50+? It can't be that hard.

What about this: 51 points in 47 minutes AND 9 assists? Dame is incredible.

Man, CJ's 4 or 5 iso plays in the 4th and OT just knocked the wind out of us. When CJ goes into iso mode, everyone else just clears out, so no one is cutting or in position for rebounds or whatever. Unless he shoots nearly a perfect percentage, it is bad to watch and bad for the flow of the offense. Obviously neither Stotts nor Dame have any power over him... There were so many things to be pissed about last night, but terrible iso plays and bizarro lineups (don't get me started) made it easy to forget about the refs and focus my ire on Stotts and CJ.

agree CJ shot us out of the game to a point. However, he was the one scoring early when Dame was firing/heat checks from crazy distances, when he could have played within the flow more. He shoulnt be taking those shots but I understand being on national TV is a huge platform for hero ball.

MeJ was in rare form tonight. Poor shooting (9-24 for 37% from the field, 27% from '3'), NO assists, and took more shots than Nurkic, Curry and Hood combined....who were 10-22.

A guy that doesn't get an assist in 45 minutes isn't a coaching problem. That shit comes from within.

Agreed....but I would submit it is at least partially coaching because Stotts enables it.

I mostly agree. But a lot of coaching is righting wrong impulses. CJ needs to be held accountable. What makes it worse, in my opinion, is that questionable offensive possessions are often followed by lazy defensive plays (like the and1 foul in OT). This is up to Stotts to fix, or would be if he were cut from a different cloth. I think we're just going to have to live and die by CJs jumpshot...

If Stotts not going hold him accountable do we got no choice. But it also could get Stotts fired. But I am going out on a limb I don't think Stotts get fired this year even if we loose in the 1st round. I also will go out on limb if we do have major shake down with players it wont include CJ.

Sometimes? He’s annoying to watch most of the time. But at this point I put more of the blame on Stotts for not having the brains or balls to put him in check.

If they were to loose in the 1st round (again) and neither Stotts was fired nor CJ moved, honestly, what would be the point of next season other than to sadly watch Dame's career waste away?

I 100% agree. I don't see Stotts or CJ going anywhere as long as Olshey is around...

The only hope I see is this: there seems to be a slight possibility that Stotts is finally admitting that ET sucks ass and is a liability. That change/realization has been a LOOOONG time coming. Maybe the other options have just gotten better, or maybe Stotts is refusing to play someone who doesn't help us. If it's the latter, then there is hope that he sees how much the shitty things can hurt us... Because we are at our best when the ball zips around, when we concentrate (and Dame is at the helm), and not when we iso and stand around.

As I've said for a long time, McCollum is vastly overpaid. At his salary, management feels handcuffed about reducing his minutes.

(I said it just a couple of days ago, and BonesJones, diehard to the end, told me I was ridiculous to question McCollum.)

Just what this forum needs, another McCollum bashing session. I guess you guys wouldn't like Donovan Mitchell on this team then or Klay Thompson who has several zero assist games just this year.

Hey! There it is. I was wondering when this post would show up. It took longer than I figured.
