Interesting. I wonder if this was when he looked through the blinds or after.

and btw..if the knicks wanted jack and our 1st pick for lee...KP has no clue. wow did we miss out.

If we turned down Lee for Jack and our pick, we made the wrong trade.

I think KP wanted DJ Augustine badly and when he wasn't on the board we stuck with the Indy deal out of desperation and took Bayless. We should have been on the phone with the Knicks immediately when DJ was taken and taken that trade.

so who is correct?????

j. quick who says this rumor has no legs.

ny media who says its in the works and needs a 3rd party.

Something to consider though...usually KP says we are content with what we have or teh cake is baking. today it was more of a "no comment" type response.

hmmmmm..maybe he realizes we need a fucking trade yesterday.

How often is the NY media right? Peter Vecsey is one of the main writers for them and has he EVER been right?

Or maybe, KP is just being his quiet self. He never says anything about any situation.

If you guys really want to dump Bayless so soon, then I wouldn't worry too much. KP can still get a lot of value if he wants to use him. He can trade Bayless for Lee straight across if he wants.

i think KP wanted augustin or westbrook badly but only because he didnt think bayless would still be available by the time we picked. all the draft boards had bayless going to okc (#4)just days before the draft. i think if westbrook or augustin were on this squad or better yet if jerryd was on okc or charlotte a lot of people would have different opinions.

Give Bayless time people! So GLAD KP is our GM and not 95% of this board

I agree with everything you said

NY has been trying to dump Lee for a year now.

He's a solid backup who will never be happy in that spot, so a chemistry problem there.

And he's not really the athletic type we've been building with, more of a basic boardman.

your negativity is so sad, verging on pathetic.

You're right - too bad we don't still have Steve Patterson running the show! Or Whitsett. Now there were some guys who really knew how to run a team!

Although if KP was 95% of this board, the other 5% of us would have a lot more inside information.

I'd much rather have Bayless than Lee. Lee is a good starter, Bayless has the chance to be significantly more than that. Considering also need and how close Lee is to free agency, nothing really causes me to prefer Lee.

If Lee were on the table now for Bayless, I'd turn it down, without question.

One thing to take into consideration is that D'antoni's system inflates #s.

Remember when the Blazers traded for Harvey Grant? He looked good in Washington, and sucked ass in Portland.

Have you seen him play? Lee is very athletic and one of the quickest big men getting from one end of the court to the other....ummm...and isn't he a starter now, puting up 15/10...at center since Curry's out

Al Harrington is scoring 20 a game and grabbing 6 boards per. Hell, Nate Robinson is averaging 16 points per game, 4 assists per game and 4 boards per game. Putting up numbers in D'Antoni's system means squat

true, but keep in mind the team that has him when he becomes a free agent can always offer more...so if it comes down to money...his team has the upper hand

He's not going to get maxed out. That would take extreme stupidity.

Oh, I see. He's going to be a Grizzly.

Lee has hops. what are you talking about?

Ummm....if you check his career, he was already getting these numbers off the bench with the same minutes for the last two years, it shows he was capable of this output before the coaching change...so using D'Antoni's system in this argument doesn't hold water.

How the hell would Quick know? You think that KP tells him anything of substance? If he does throw him a bone, it's to throw everybody off the scent. The only info KP is giving is misinformation.

but since he's not a max contract guy- we should be able to offer the same amount as any reasonable team.

yeah, your right about that...he isn't a max player...so my point is irrelivent...I stand corrected...I was just pointing out the fact that the team he's with at the time, can offer more

David Lee averaged a double double two seasons ago when D'Antoni wasn't there and he did it off the bench. He averaged 10 & 8 last year too. Also- David Lee won MVP of the rookie/soph game, right? He's a good player.

As I said, Lee put up great numbers BEFORE D'Antoni.
