Anyone get this? i never have played a Diablo game (not a PC gamer at all, yeah yeah Master Race) but Loot games and Co-op interest the crap outta me. Played a couple hours yesterday, and now thats all I wanna play.

I play World of Warcraft and there was an annual pass (commit to staying subscribed to WoW for a year) a couple years ago that gave you some perks, including a free copy of D3. I played D3 quite a bit for a few months, but eventually it became too repetitive. It's a really beautiful game, though and, if you like the endless-grind-for-loot genre (which has a long tradition) then it's a great example of it.

yeah I can see the repetitive part. I'm hoping with 6 characters that wont be the case as soon. The Co-op aspect and random generated dungeons mode may appeal to me. But Loot and Co-op mainly.

I just dont have the competitive spirit to get into matchmaking as often anymore.

I played it on 360 not on pc. Good game, lots of fun first play or two, then it got repetitive and I became bored.

Very addictive. If you like loot games you need to get destiny. The co-op pve on it is promising, and the multiplayer is top notch. Edit: it comes out sept 9th on 360/PS3 & the new gen xbox one/ps4

What class are you rolling? I played demon hunter, wizard, and barbarian. The barbarian was by far the best!

I stopped during burning crusade, but I used to play on boulderfist. I can never go back to that game, even though I had a blast playing it.

D3 is lame because it has the shop.

Yep Destiny is pre-ordered. as soon as I played the Alpha I was sold. It has everything that I'm looking for.

at first I was worried with how close Diablo was to DEstiny release it would be a waste of money. But to me its a different enough game that it can be a good change of pace game so I dont get burnt out on one game.

I played as a Monk. Had no idea what I was looking for, so I figured I'd probably be restarting a couple times at least.

I heard it was lame when it came out on the pc, so i never played it. Not a big fan of that style of rpg anyway, Torchlight does nothing for me either.

Oh shit I just remembered from your comment that they were releasing a new d3 that is basically the patched pc version. Is that what you are talking about?

Are you on ps4 or xbox one?

I'm worried for Microsoft on the master chief halo release being so close to destiny. But from everyone I've heard on the subject, they still can't wait for master chief collection and still plan on buying it....I'm up in the air on it, I guess I'll have to see if destiny is still tons of fun at that point.

I liked he barbarian because you regen health based off attacks or something iirc. You also have some abilities which allow you to handle sticky situations well...IE: lots of bad guys, or difficult bad guys. I remember dying the least on my barb, and running through dungeons quickest. Barb might be a good class to try if you have beaten the game, or want something faster paced.

Demon hunter was good for taking time and being strategic. You can place traps down on the ground which do a wide variety of things such as slowing enemies down.

I played a ton of D3 when it first came out and loved it. After a few months and over a hundred playing hours I quit it because I hated the Auction house and real money auction house. They took those out on PC about six months ago and played it for a few more months and had a ton of fun, it got old but not to the point I didnt want to play it. Only really stopped playing it because my computer started having issues

sweet thanks for the info! I really had no clue so I just kinda went with a guess haha!.

I'm on PS4 though. You should come to the light side! :)

This will sound weird but I played D2 (PC) obsessively in late 1990's early 2000s. At the time was a renowned player vs player dueling Paladin and one of the pioneers of desynch techniques which became widely used.

No time for such things these days. Also from the start the PC version of D3 has had really discouraging reviews on Amazon.

Played it almost to the end and just got too bored with it.

Came back months later to find that my account had been stolen.

Real money store was a mistake.

whatisthis

Sort of an unfair manipulation of the system by building a PvP char (hammer/charge Paladin) able to move so fast that there's no way the internet can keep up and he turns invisible to your opponent.

i remember watching my buddy play, and he would get to be so fast that none of the creatures could catch him, but they would still follow him? and he would run up to some newbie player and type something like "hey, i have a present for you!" and then a hundred monsters would just devour the newbie in a gangbang feeding frenzy. pretty funny.

 I need to see this happen!

I fully admit PC gaming is most powerful way and biggest platform for gaming, but I just cant do it. In my limited time to play games now, I just want it to work when I sit down. I dont want to deal with drivers, and a bunch of troubleshooting. As much as I'm probably missing out on, I just want to sit on a couch and play. Plus I love controllers :)

So you ran Ubers and all that? That was the most fun I had in D2.

You're just being obtuse about PC gaming at this point man, it's so streamlined now and you can use a wireless controller with it while it's plugged into your tv. It's as easy as a ps4 at this point.

To be honest, I could see how knowing all the equipment to get it to that point could be a little tricky, but who doesn't have a friend or relative that could help you out?

Price bruh.

And iirc a few of the better games that came to PC first didnt have controller support until later.

With Console, I know that developers will be making something that will work on that system for 7+ years. Whereas PC developers dont have the same constraints so why would they.

Destiny doesn't have a pc release date, that automatically gives anybody an excuse to want to play console.

Price evens out when you consider things like Steam and Amazon digital games sales, plus no subscription fees to play online. It is more of an upfront cost though obviously. The playing old games argument is weird though because there is a bunch of old games from the 90s on Steam that work perfectly on Windows 7. I own pretty much every modern console but the Vita and Xbone so i get the best of both worlds though.

Not really unless you get outdated components for your pc. A new pc will run you 1k+ while a new console is under 500.

You can also go longer without needing to upgrade for quality.

If you buy the parts online and build it yourself you can get a really nice PC that runs every game on high for around 700 bucks.
