Pretty much what I thought. Pressey is probably the better talent, but Frazier is already plugged into the culture of the team. I'm not really sure who's going to make it.
As someone who has barely held onto a job because I was "in tune" and "had job experience" I'm pulling for Frazier. But either one is a "He's gonna win us 3 games this year" type of player.
I've got a poll set up to see who we think will be cut. Right now it looks like most think Frazier will be the one cut. I'm pretty 'meh' on the topic. I don't see a lot of upside for Frazier or Pressey. As for end of the bench guys, I'm much more excited to see guys like Montero, Alexander, Connaughton, and Vonleh.
The only reason to be excited about Caunnighton is his pretty face which I'm assuming is a big deal in Portland
My thoughts as well. Liked what little we saw of Frazier last year, but was a huge disappointment to me in summer league. With all he has going against him physically, his inability to consistently take care of the ball was inexcusable. Hey man, don't forget his charm and wit. He's not just a pretty face.
I'm in the Fraizer camp still...but damn this is the third or fourth thread on the subject of the 15th spot...we need more to talk about
Allen Crabbe...the relatively under the radar young vet who knows the system...he gets no mention whatsoever...people act like after henderson and CJ there's no player that can play the 2 or no backup SF even though he backed up Nico there last season..I'm interested in whether this is his breakout season
I'm hoping it will be. I wonder how much of his time will come at the 2 and how much of it will come at the 3
I think he'll split the difference but maybe play more 2 if CJ is a 6man. Crabbe plays better with the starters in the past than coming off the bench.
I don't think CJ or Crabbe will be starters...Henderson will get the nod probably, with CJ playing the backup point and Crabbe checking Henderson. But, damn does Crabbe deserve it. I have no qualms about him starting if he does, dude can play
I think McCollum will be poor at PG, so I think the Frazier/Pressey player will be far higher than 15th man, so I think the Frazier vs. Pressey decision is important. A causes B causes C.
If they were confident in Frazier, Pressey wouldn't even be on the radar. Something tells me, Dame's homie or not, Frazier isn't the one.
Neil is pretty okay with getting rid of people, Dame's Buddy or not. So I have confidence they'll pick the right guy.
