    We would rather see him be an unrestricted free agent next summer. Even if we have no interest in actually signing him it's another name in the market and may draw interest from teams were competing with to sign other players.

    Unless he signs a one year deal with Cleveland--which is unlikely--he won't be a UFA next summer. Even if he sits out the entire year, he'll just resume RFA status.

    Now do it per million in salary using the contract Davis got from us, and the contract Thompson expects. We REALLY come out ahead then! :ghoti:

    But, he does have 3 solid years playing for a lottery team, and they won the lottery 2 of those 3 years. So, that could come in handy.
