PLAYOFF SERIES NOTES
• This is the second meeting between the Trail Blazers and Warriors in the NBA Playoffs. Golden State defeated the Trail Blazers last year, 3-1, in the Western Conference Semifinals.

• LAST MEETING: Stephen Curry scored 34 points to lead all scorers and the Warriors defeated the Trail Blazers, 119-113, at the Moda Center. CJ McCollum scored 32 points to lead Portland and Damian Lillard added 31 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Jusuf Nurkic returned to action for Portland, while Golden State was without Kevin Durant and head coach Steve Kerr.

• Since Portland became a franchise in 1970, Portland has made the playoffs 33 times, while Golden State has qualified 17 times. The two teams have both reached the playoffs in all 17 of those seasons.

• Despite losing the 2016 Western Conference Semifinals, 4-1, the Trail Blazers led for 137 of the 232 minutes played in the series.

• Damian Lillard averaged 31.8 points (43.1% 3-PT) and 7.6 assists against the Warriors in the 2016 Western Conference Semifinals. Lillard recorded two games of 30+ points and 10+ assists, and his 40 points in the Trail Blazers’ lone victory represents his playoff career high.

• Oakland native Damian Lillard has recorded six of his 13 highest scoring playoff performances (27 games) against the Warriors, including his two highest scoring postseason games. Two of Lillard’s three highest postseason assist totals have also come against Golden State.

• In two games (one start) against the Trail Blazers in the 2016 Western Conference Semifi nals, Stephen Curry averaged 34.5 points, 9.5 assists and 7.0 rebounds while shooting 50.0% from the field (37.0% 3-PT).

CONNECTIONS
• Warriors head coach Steve Kerr played one season for the Trail Blazers during the 2001-02 campaign. Kerr averaged 4.1 points and 1.0 assists in 65 games as a Trail Blazer.

• Warriors guard Klay Thompson is the son of former Trail Blazer Mychal Thompson, who the Trail Blazers selected first overall in the 1978 NBA Draft. Thompson played seven years in Portland (1978-86).

• Trail Blazers center Festus Ezeli spent his first three NBA seasons with the Warriors from 2012-13 to 2015-16, averaging 4.2 points and 4.3 rebounds in 170 games (61 starts).

• Allen Crabbe played his college basketball near Oakland at the University of California at Berkely.

PREVIOUS MEETINGS IN THE SERIES

This game is on the 24th in the USA, however it will be on April 25th in Australia, and New Zealand. ANZAC Day.

I would like to take a moment to remember those "who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations" and "the contribution and suffering of all those who have served".

Lest We Forget.

I know teams have won series after being down 3-1.

Has any team won a series after being down 3-0?
I guess I could look it up but it doesn't matter because it's about to happen! Meyers is going to turn into Hakeem Laimbeer, go for 30 and 15 and we're going to shock the world!

(This prozac-viagra-marijuana cocktail is pretty good.)

Nope, but the Blazers came back to 3-3 and forced a game 7 vs the Mavericks

No but two teams came close. 1994 Nuggets, who rallied from 0-2 in first round best of 5," rallied from 0-3 down to the Utah Jazz in second round to tie the series 3-3. And the 2003 Trail Blazers rallied from 0-3 to the Dallas Mavericks to force Game 7 and a had a lead in the fourth quarter. And that Dallas team was good (Dirk, Nash, Finley, Van Exel). They ultimately made the WCF, then lost Dirk to injury and still almost made the NBA Finals were it not for Steve Kerr's clutch shooting for the Spurs in Game 6.

Other 0-3 history: Two years ago, the Bucks came back from 0-3 to force a 6th game. This was also done by the Knicks vs the Celtics and by the Rockets vs the Thunder a few years ago. Orlando did it in the 2010 ECF I think. And of course, in baseball, the Red Sox came back from 0-3 against the Yankees.

It hasn't been done but it's not as daunting as it seems in my opinion. Here's the map:

Step 1-- Win game 4. Simple as that. Win a home game.
Step 2-- Win for a chance to play at home for your fans again.
Step 3-- Win a home game to tie the series and make history.
Step 4-- Game 7. Anything can happen.

What makes it daunting is how bad we are without Nurkic.

I would rather go out at oracle not at home. Want my team to win but reality is golden state is just that good and dame and cj are barely getting help. I just am looking forward to off-season, getting nurkic healthy and hopefully getting rid of some guys, building around our three.

When the score is 0-4, KingSpeed is going to find some obscure reference to when some team in a fantasy land lost a series but was able to advance because the other team decided to quit playing and leave the league.

Keep on believing!

A long road before the next season... Last game of the season... i watch all the blazers game this year so i will miss my blazers for sure.

.....and the flyers did it against the Bruins

Why Not? Lets at least match last years 1-3 record. Their bench players are strong contributors. McGee and Iguodala are kickin our reserves asses. D. Green is a monster. I am sure Nurk is done. Time for Meyers Leonard to be supreme. Can ET become his dollar value or will he lose the ball when trapped and miss free throws at critical moments?

Coming back from down 0-3 is easy. Just win 4 straight games against a far superior team, two of them on the road. That's the map, it's on the players to execute it. If they can't execute such a simple plan, maybe none of them belong here.

Yep and PA might as well fire the whole front office and coaching staff, sell the team to Hawaii and move to Canada.

Serious question, but shouldn't people on here realized this 2 weeks ago?
Yes, I said GS in 4. But seeing first hand, it's staggering.

Games 1 and 3, Dame and CJ both had amazing games and we weren't close to winning. And Steph/Klay have been pretty weak too.

That's where the whole 'Lottery vs Draft' discussion came from. Portland was playing horrible. Then Nurkic came and they played better but it was still a #1/#8 matchup against one of the better #1 seeds in league history....not sure what the point was. I think the Nurkic Effect helped hide how poorly this roster was playing but it wasn't going to change the inevitable.

This roster needs all the help it can get and a Lottery pick (especially when it was down in the #8/9 range) was going to do more for this franchise than getting swept by the Warriors. This is nothing new.

"Here's how Bernie can still win!"

My point was about GS being REALLY good, not how poor our roster is. I don't see any team giving them more than 1 loss in each of their series.

That would be a wimp move...swagger comes from the gut...you should watch a bunch of Muhammed Ali pre game interviews and rethink that "we ain't good enough" stuff my friend.....you go into the playoffs ready to do battle...acknowledge the enemy after a defeat but never before a battle..

You must be the one guy who buys the calendar with the pictures of kittens and waterfalls with motivational phrases underneath.
