McMaster said certain specific things were not discussed but the Post story never claimed they were. So he denied what was not reported.

Couldn't this whole thing have been avoided if a certain someone would have allowed the american press in instead of only the russian press?

Trump was right. He could shoot someone on 5th avenue, on TV, and certain people here would say "fake news"; "the guy didn't die so what's the big deal"; "whoever leaked this should be prosecuted"; etc.

I don't get it. I don't understand the unwavering support of a guy who has done nothing to earn your trust. What has he done? Seriously, what has Trump done to deserve the benefit of the doubt? Why should he be given such complete loyalty?

We aren't talking about a man with an esteemed military service or a long track record in politics, we are talking about a fucking reality tv star. Have you people gone loony? I'm not even a democrat and I can see this shit plain as day. Reapect and trust is earned and I have seen nothing from this man to earn either.

I've been thinking about this. I think there are a few groups. 1 group is simply cognitive dissonance. Spend so long supporting someone who already broke the mold early on and has no recent historical comparisons, and someone who one has had to make some excuses for so early on, it just becomes too connected to ones esteem to change sides even when it becomes evident that little falsehoods and white lies are big fat juicy lies and dangerous misdeeds. Second group are "watch the world burn" folks who really just want a fun show to watch. And group 3, related to group 2 but with a twist are the "shit-posters" who just seem to relish pissing people off by saying "fake news" at every possible chance, it's posting something without substance just to have that act get under peoples skin. Then, closely related are trolls, who may post interesting things but also post just to annoy, they are trying to needle the other people.

I'm sure there are more categories, including a few who actually would like Trump in any universe, but I think most supporters do so because not doing so would ipso facto be liberal, Democrat, pinko bastard bullshit.

Honestly what I have done the past 10 years is just stay away from mainstream media. I mean this Trump/Russia narrative has been going on for how long? and what concrete evidence is there? none. You really have to do your own independent research to get the truth and this trump/russia thing has smelled like shit from the beginning. One thing America loves to do is act like it's the greatest. It's not. At all. People love to act like we save every country and are the good guys but honestly this narrative is just damage control because Trump won and they don't want America to look bad. Nobody expected Trump to win and when Hillary lost after they fucked Bernie Sanders over, they came up with a story, the Trump/Russia story when really there weren't any hacks at all on anything. There were leaks which Wikileaks put out. Wikileaks has been 100 percent on all their reporting and continue to warn us of the type of crooked shit the CIA,NSA, etc do. By the way, people need to look into Seth Rich and the recent news on that. It's crazy and totally being overshadowed by this bullshit news. I mean I get it Donald Trump isn't a good president and an egomaniac but that's about all the dude is. Billionaire on the apprentice and now all of a sudden because America voted him in he just so happens to have Russia backing him which got him elected? I mean okay, sure. Lets just keep this narrative going because there has been no proof yet at all.

"Bad and sad. So sad." We don't know who is truth. This presidency and the media are really screwed up. I thought Bush was clueless but Trumps' administration tops anything I had ever seen.

Trump's advisors absolutely denied the story is true, period. That they said what went on, as well, does not change the fact that they said the story is false. Three of them who were in the room.

Like I said, it is a big deal if the administration sent these three out to lie. Exactly like sending Susan Rice out to lie about Benghazi and the whole "YouTube video" narrative.

    Exactly the same.

It's still not clear that the story is true, though it is clear certain people want it to be true. The truth will come out, for sure. Either Trump's advisors lied or they didn't. If they did, it's an abuse of office in my book.

They were in the room, the undisclosed sources and former officials weren't. Former officials - why believe anything they have to say?

Lost in all the "gotcha" rhetoric is whether it's illegal and unusual for a president to share secret information with foreign powers - even Russia. I bet Obama did it dozens of times, if not more. And W, and Clinton, and Bush, and Reagan, and Carter, and so on.

There is still the issue of top secret classified information being shared with the Washington Post, if any of it is true. Whether you consider the leaker a hero or not, it's still illegal at best and treason at worst.

I also agree with @Clippy91 that WikiLeaks has published the unvarnished truth, over and over again. Not particularly everything to do with Russia or interesting to Russia. Assange is more believable than our CIA, no doubt.

Russian source, so take it for what it is.

    Dated 3/23/17

Briefing by Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova, Moscow, March 23, 2017

Also, I would like to say that if the practice of leaking information that concerns not just the United States but also Russia, which has become a tradition in Washington in the past few years, continues, there will come a day when the media will publish leaks about the things that Washington asked us to keep secret, for example, things that happened during President Obama’s terms in office. Believe me, this could be very interesting information.

Our American colleagues must decide if they respect the diplomatic procedure, if they keep their word on the arrangements made between us, primarily arrangements made at their own request, or we create a few very nice surprises for each other.

What concerns me is that Trump supporters aren't even willing to believe that some of these stories are true. They immediately write them off as "fake news." They don't believe any news source, but they will quickly accept the word of a trump advisor as fact. I don't get it. I don't understand why you think this man is so trustworthy.

But it "didn't happen" right? I mean, that was the response to McMaster, right?

Now Trump is saying he can share any classified information he wants with anyone he wants to share it with, which is contradicting the spin that no classified information was shared.

    Twitter is fake news..... right?

Someone must have hacked his account. This is why we need to get rid of net neutrality, to make the internet a safer place!!!!
