life changes...Sunday I was admitted to the hospital emergency room...being released today after many tests...apparently I just dodge a bullet...my respiratory system was failing due to my heart only working at 25 percent....flooded my lungs with blood....I'm now disabled probably for life...have to live a completely different lifestyle and take very expensive meds for a month...come back and get my heart shocked back into a restart...

I'm very very sorry for what you're going to have to endure.

Look at it this way, if you're married, your wife is just tremendously relieved that you pulled through.

My wife tells me nearly every day that she just can't live without me. Funny, that's how I feel about her. She tells me I've got to stay alive so I can do her paperwork, and then we both laugh.

I don't know if you have kids or not but if you do then I'll bet they also feel relieved that you pulled through, I know I do.

Glad they found the problem in time.

Can not speak for others, but I noticed your lack of posting. I missed you.

Now take care of yourself, and keep us posted on how your doing.

Shit, that sucks. What are the lifestyle changes? Diet and excercise related or meds and Physical therapy?
diet...activities mostly...things I used to do are off limits.....like my job...that's it...no more jobs for me...for now I can't mow a lawn, climb a mountain, drink coffee, long list...recupperating

So that's what happened to you! Here it only Tuesday, and I already missed you.
Well pay attention, learn what you need so you can contribute. This place is dull without you. You have not trained a replacement that is up to speed, so we need you.

I spent the day in the emergency room last Monday but still plan to be in the Columbia next week. Trying right now to learn to replace pain pills with beer. but I learn fast.
Do what you must man, get well, come visit on the river river.

Oh man, I'm so sorry. Take care of yourself. Fingers crossed that these expensive meds you're taking for a month puts things back to normal.

Well at least arguing on the internet isn't off the list.
How do you think he got to this point??? Seriously, I hope you’re feeling better and continue to improve Riv.
I’ve had (and still have) my share of cardiac issues and it can be an inconvenience. Just do what they tell you (within reason) and go with the flow. Enjoy the things you CAN do.

P.S. I’ve had 4 cardioversions so far and all I can tell you is they put you under and you wake up wondering what that was all about. Pray for hot nurses.......and be glad you don’t have Type 2 Diabetes. Absolutely NOTHING worse than being a diabetic in a cardio ward at meal time........

I love giving you shit so you better hang around for another couple of decades. Or until the Blazers win a championship.....so another 40 years or so.

Dang, sorry to hear about your health riverman. Take it easy, and get yourself better. And make sure not to tell your Doctor about this board, or it'll surely get added to your list of banned activities.

Sorry to hear that. I hope things get better.

I've always had a heart murmur and was born with it...always had low blood pressure, etc....strangely it was physical activity that pushed it over the limit...learned a lot about it. I have to wear a protective vest for a month...have to live a very simple way for a long stretch....I plan to work on some writing projects I've been working on for a long time...and reading a lot. My wife has been wonderful as has my son.....I'm in good hands on the homefront...probably be 6 months before I'll be back to strength and able to do things I enjoy. All my other numbers are great though and surprisingly my lungs were perfectly clear...for 9 days I could barely breath....thought I had lung cancer...it was my heart causing my lungs to flood with water from my body as the blood wasn't providing it.....not in the clear yet but to avoid stroke or heart attack, I have to flush the heart and get the strength of heart tissue back to snuff

Wow, sorry to here the problems you are having but glad you were able to get treatment in time. Rest up and take care of yourself.
