In the survival of the fittest, how has Sly gotten to the top? He hires moderators he can dominate. Look at our sub-.500 crew of moderators. We are so weak up front. This is why Sly claims he'll never leave Portland, even if the Lakers give him a call. He'd have to work among equal moderators.

This mod team needs help in the paint, but Sly keeps adding to the backcourt bench. I bumped my head from ducking under door frames when I enter rooms, so all I can do is to be everyone's heroic inspirational leader in keeping Denny, Sly, and Olshey in their places.

@Chris Craig; Will this take time away from grading homework and Test papers accurately?

I've met Chris and we've debated on here and it's all good. He's not afraid to defend his ideas and brings an argument rather than troll or dismiss posts without reading them.

No way I can vote for yet another lefty to be Mod though. Selective Enforcement/Non-Enforcement of rules and decorum has become a one-party street here, which works the same way a one-party SCOTUS would. Badly.

The board is teetering on collapse due to the imbalance already, as happened with previous but now defunct boards most of us came from.

As we found out before, a boardful of homers and liberals has little to discuss with each other.

Politics is not a consideration in nominating people to become staff here.

As far as I can tell, because I haven't asked, myself and @PtldPlatypus are conservatives, I think @Chris Craig is a liberal, and I'm not really sure what @Strenuus is.

    But that doesn't matter.

IMO what matters is are they Blazer fans? (You know, since it is the official forum of the Portland Trail Blazers.) Do they like and participate in the forum? Do they respect and like people in the forum? Do they enjoy and participate in forum functions? Have they done things to make the forum better or more fun even before they were staff?

I can easily answer yes to all of those questions about Platy, Stren, and Chris.

We have healthy discussions and debates in the main forum about basketball, the NBA and the Blazers. IMO that means the forum is healthy.

If you are not satisfied with the discussion and debate in the Off Topic section of a basketball forum then may I suggest you find other forums for that. The OT section of a basketball forum is never going to be very good for that.

What I find to be odd, insulting, and simply not true is that this forum is on a crusade to ban conservatives. Using the bannings of PapaG and Sinobas as proof of this is just sad. PapaG was banned almost 4 years ago. Sinobas was banned for repeatedly posting the N word in the main forum. This sudden claiming of Sinobas as "One of us!" is disturbing. I don't know what his political affiliations or beliefs were and that had nothing to do with him being banned. If you think posting the N word means Sinobas is a fellow conservative then that is more of a reflection on you then it is on how liberal the staff is.

btw, the board is "teetering" on whatever the hell he said not because of the political leanings of the mods, global mods or admins. It's "teetering" on whatever the hell he said because it's 2018 and this form of interaction among fans is totally a dying art form.

You ask most people under 25 and they're like "message boards? no diggity, I use the 'gram my holmes".

and you talk to most fans over the age of 55 and they're like "I'm sorry kind sir, I know not of what you speak of. Please, go on"

And yet Reddit, the 3rd most popular destination on the internet is an online forum.

Forums, if done right, are still very popular by people of all ages.

That's why we must always be trying to make this place better and more fun.

Don't know Sinobas nor did I notice him post much, just saw that he supposedly got banned for insults just like PapaG did after his life was threatened by a mod, just like that _____5000 guy did, all conservatives banned for insults yet dviss1 CONTINUALLY calls me and others a racist with impunity. Him calling me a racist is every bit as insulting to me as the n-word is to him. I've reported him several times and been ignored.

So feel insulted all you want but actions speak louder than words and you've taken no action at all.

I'm a glassishalffull kind of guy so I look forward to Chris Craig being the new sheriff in town who shows you how to moderate in a Fair and Balanced way.

Reddit is basically just a forum, a really big forum. Forums are not a dying breed imo, they could do with some tidying up and getting some more modern looking UI’s. I think most online forums still look very similar to how they looked 15 years ago.

Ive admitted to leaning conservative, and to some of my own life style choices... No ones really given me any crap for it on here.
Though I dont spend much time in OT.

The reason why I decided to stop going on OT wasnt because I cant handle different opinions, I just feel like most of the posts seem to be there just to ‘trigger’ the people of opposing view points. There were some good discussions at times, but a lot of the politics and stuff of that nature didnt come across as lets have open and honest conversations as much as it felt like each side going, “Oh I know what’ll really piss em off.”. To me that doesnt get anywhere...

@bodyman5000 and 1 has never been banned. I fully admit and own that I insulted him. I have also publicly apologized to him twice. (Here is the thread for everyone to read if they choose to. http://www.sportstwo.com/threads/a-...es-at-us-from-deep-space.333926/#post-4512316)

@dviss1 for the most part, there have been exceptions that myself and others have removed or edited, says that posts and or opinions posted are racist. It's a fine line but one that follows the forum personal insult rule of attacking the post and not the person. Dviss should not be calling members of this forum racists.

Every time you have reported a Dviss post we have looked at it. Some we have taken action, some we haven't. Same as you, many of your posts have been reported and no action was taken. Many of you have become truly masterful at insulting each other without violating the personal insult rule.

Again, Sinobas was not banned for violating the personal insult rule. He was banned for posting the N word multiple times. And it was Denny who banned him.

The great posting a picture to PapaG of an airsoft gun as being a threat to him was before my time on staff. I really have no comment or opinion on it.
