Arizona resident shoots four burglars, killing one, police say
One person is dead and three others are injured after they were shot by a resident of an Arizona home they were trying to burglarize, police said.

The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call at approximately 1:38 a.m. Thursday and discovered that four individuals were shot after breaking into a home.

According to a news release, Edith Guerrero, 36, Jaden James, 18, Leonardo Gonzalez, 27, and Jessica Aynes, 28, woke the sleeping occupants as they entered.

The unidentified occupant with the gun fired several rounds, hitting all four suspects and ultimately killing one.

Aynes was taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead. Guerrero and James also were rushed to the hospital with gunshot wounds.

The extent of Gonzalez's injuries was unclear, although police did confirm he was struck.

The case is being investigated by the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office.

In Arizona, you don't know what sort of animal could break into your house. Who knows, the defender could have mistaken the sounds for a puma or even a large lizard..

Even if he knee they were human, he is within his rights. Four on one could feel like a life or death situation. Them or me. I better shoot first.

Woman with concealed carry license shoots, kills would-be robber at Chicago bus stop, police say

By Katherine Lam | Fox News

A 25-year-old woman with a concealed carry license shot and killed the man trying to rob her at gunpoint near a Chicago bus station Tuesday morning, police said -- noting she needed just a single shot to take down the would-be robber.

The unidentified woman was at the bus stop in Chicago’s Fernwood neighborhood just after 6 a.m. when the man, identified as 19-year-old Laavion Goings, pulled a gun and attempted to rob her, WLS reported. Surveillance video from a nearby convenience store showed the woman waiting at the stop and Goings approaching her and aiming his gun, officials said.

CHICAGO SEES 2 SHOT DEAD, 9 WOUNDED AS VIOLENT JANUARY WEEKEND DRAWS TO CLOSE

The woman, however, was prepared. She pulled out her own weapon and shot Goings in the neck before fleeing the area to seek help.

Police found Goings about a block away. He was taken to a hospital where he later died.

"It's tragic that he did die, but the lady had to do what she had to do," Bianca Daniel, who lives near the shooting scene, told WLS. "She's on a bus stop, probably going to work, you know, and she has to encounter that early in the morning. I'm kind of proud that, like, that's what she did because she stuck up for herself."

Another neighbor said: "I'm glad that she had concealed carry and good aim, because there is so much going on in these streets.”

The woman, who suffered minor injuries during the incident, is not expected to face charges.

Should a death sentence be required for stealing property?

If you point a gun at someone and attempt to rob them then death is on the table.

You in the "just follow along and he'll leave me alone" camp?

I don't have much choice because I don't carry a gun. Other things about me seem to be deterrent enough but I'm getting older.

Anyway, anyone stupid enough to point a gun at someone deserves what they get.

I don't own a firearm nor do I need one.

I leave my car and house unlocked and I live in the city.

If someone took some of my belongings, I have insurance. They can have them. I'll call the police. I would hate to end someone's life over a material possession I can reacquire...

If nobody that pointed a gun at someone to rob them had ever killed them after they followed the robber's instructions then I would agree with you.

Unfortunately YOU don't know if any specific robber isn't looking to kill you afterwards for whatever reason.

Just crazy? Doesn't want to leave a witness?

Or like the poor guy in the liquor store here a few years ago. He had a gun to his head and NO way of opening the safe.

Got shot in the head because of it. Guy got pissed he wouldn't do what he told him to.

Should a death sentence be required for waiting for a bus?

He threatened to kill her, was a split second from doing so.

The outcome most likely saved dozens if not hundreds from the grief of his future life of crime.

    You're being silly now.

NOBODY leaves their doors unlocked in Portland.

Never mind your possessions, you have a son.

I sure hope you've got a better plan B than you're letting on because violent crime isn't exactly decreasing in Portland.

You don't live here so how the fuck would you know? I rarely lock my door.

And stop bringing up my son. I've done a great job of protecting him for 12 years without a firearm.

You love your life in fear. I don't.

Silly... Trick question, there shouldn't be a death sentence for either.

I guess people who wear seatbelts are stupid.

Or who don't smoke or pick up hookers.

Maybe Trump is more like you than you think. I sure as hell wouldn't sleep with a porn star without a condom.....but why be afraid of what COULD happen?

not living in fear is not same as living dangerously.

Leaving your doors unlocked is living dangerously.

Posting that on a forum where most people know your name and what you look like is really dangerous.

No, they're following the law. Are guns required?

Condoms were originally to prevent pregnancy not protect from STDs.

    Flawed analogy.
