Just to make sure I'm reading this correctly (which I freely admit I may not be)--are you suggesting that it was incumbent upon the government's executive branch to ensure that businesses which manufacture and distribute hand sanitizer increase their production in anticipation of the current run on the product?

Oh, sure, go into the viral swamp of a public restroom for hand-sanitizing. Next you'll be telling me to bathe in a crocodile-infested river. Just be sure not to touch the faucet or door handles on your way out or you'll enter an infinite loop of sanitizing.

Understood. I rarely assume people see my posts the instant they're submitted; I prefer to give the benefit of the doubt.

    You're good.

    Well, Trump is in charge, is he not? And unless I'm mistaken, this is covered in The Preamble;

    "...promote the general welfare..."

    So yes.

So, I see that George Takei has a suggestion for a replacement for the hand shake during the Coronavirus outbreak:

    Live long and prosper!

He's not in charge of everything. He's not a monarch (despite what people like to claim he thinks). He's not in charge of commerce.

I can't see your perspective on this one at all.

LOL. There is such a thing as common sense. Not certain where you hang out, but hot soapy water in a clean public bathroom (I think you know the difference) is not the worst thing in the world.

He's not a monarch?...sure acts like one to me.

He's not in charge of commerce?...sure claims to be. (stock market/economy is all his doing, just ask him)

Are you telling me that you don't believe the US could have been better prepared than we are?...and at a much earlier time?

..."clean public bathroom"?...seriously?...that's a contradiction in terms, IMO.

I'm pretty sure you hold it until you get home. But, that's OK, too.

    (just wow)

Because your comments to me indicate that you would be highly unwilling to visit a public bathroom due to their apparent uncleanliness. OTOH, perhaps, you just trudge through the experience/ordeal and take your chances accordingly. Buyer Beware.

Uhhh, yes, I avoid public bathrooms whenever possible...and most everyone I know does too.

I also find it laughable that very place that you suggest people wash their hands (a sink)("in a public bathroom") is often the most contaminated.

    Again, wow.

There's such a thing as not touching the sink itself, and using paper towels to touch sink/door handles, etc.

You must be a blast on road trips. LOL Wait! I just spotted a tree!

Hey, you're the one trying to convince people that you don't really need hand sanitizer because after all, public restrooms/sinks/doors/toilet handles, etc., are just as antiseptic. ...(rolls eyes)

And yes, I'm a blast on road trips, as always.

Sure. I remember everything I told you in 2013. I was probably being facetious then, as well.

That's not at all what I said to e-Blazer. I related a news article, then responded that I'd probably soap-up in restaurant, grocery store. department/box store restrooms, while using some, uhm, common sense. That said, it appears you've rarely/never used a restaurant bathroom, so I may be speaking to a wall here.

Again, I related what "I" would probably do. You (and others) can do what you'd like. Far be it from me to "convince" you. LOL
